+capty99
Anyone built one of these? I have a soldering iron lying around from past experiments so I can put one of these together pretty easily -- but I'm wondering how much light I should throw into this tank. Its still the 10g, and I'll probably make it expandable, but someone said they only dropped like 8 led's in their similar sized tank. Doesn't seem like much light. Anyone have experience? Should I run all blue , or some blue / white mix? Thanks
Rich
my 12 gallon nano cube had 2 built in and they were plenty bright enough for moon lights i thought.
caferacermike
It all depends upon what wattage your LEDS are and what you are driving them with. To say that 8 LEDS were perfect on a 10g tank would make me believe they are tiny like 1/10th of a watt. My fixture for my 75g came with 5x 7w units and they were plenty bright. mFrame
I have several pc case mode lights that will work fine for this, they're encased in 12" acrylic rods and have molex ends. You can splice an a/c adapter on the end and they work great. I have both red and blue.
