mburton
I am looking to try to build up a pod culture, and I have done some reading. It doesn't seem like it should be difficult to get a decent population going. I need a starting point, so does anybody know any local stores that sell pods? I have found some sites online that do, but I wanted to try locally first to avoid shipping, etc. I am thinking of setting up 4 or so small tanks to see if I can get a decent set of populations going. Any other thoughts on the subject?
caferacermike
Buying quality live rock and a pound of live sand from a shop like the Tek, River City, or the Dome will automatically begin your pod process. Don't buy the gimicky $20 for 20 pods bottle. Hell, come by and I'll give you some macro from my tank full of pods. They will come in on almost every rock, coral, and sand that you add. The trick is not adding any fish to the tank for about 2-3 months to allow them to establish their numbers. I never added any pods to my tank yet I can see thousands. Are planning a refuge? If so they will prosper in a predator free environment.
