fishypets
Anyone keeping clams should be aware of pyramid snails These little buggers can really stress out your clams and you if you are not careful. I was unlucky enough to get the snails from a fellow reefer. I never knew how many were on my Gigas until I pulled him out for routine service. Sorry the pictures are some what out of focus, I needed to hurry and didn't have time to set up my tri.

caferacermike
Clint I am so sorry to read of this. I feel your loss as I've had a few clams go on me, one to an evil wrasse.

thedude
That Gigas is still very much alive and growing. He's referring to 3 teardrop maxima's he lost a while back that were truly one of a kind. I really don't think I'll ever see maximas as beautiful as the ones clint had.
fishypets
Thanks John, Here are three of the teardrops I lost a few months ago. The fourth was just as nice as the first one pictured only larger.

fishypets
Plus Clint has so much disposible income he can just buy a new one. Gabe I don't think I'll ever but another expensive clam, no matter how much money I have, or don't have.
GKarshens
I was only kidding. I hear you on the expensive animals. I hate the idea of spending over a $100 on an animal and watching it die!
GKarshens
Clint, I just found this very interesting article about clam care that talks about these snails and treatments.
