Do you have a frag of about 3-4 heads of the blasto's, if so which one is it in the pic? Also, how big is each head?

Yeah I hear you! Its THE nastiest thing that could die in your tank. Especially when you dont know and you grab it and it goes everywhere. Its just really gross. Sorry about the loss though.

Its up to you with the lighting. There are a ton of fixtures out there. Right now I have an 8G and a 1G and they are super easy to keep. I started with a 2.5G, even though its not reccommended, but I wanted to get feel for SW before spending loads of money on larger setups. If you are just starting out I would do something similiar to what I did. Just a 2.5G AGA and the stock hood with a 20W 50/50 Coralife Bulb, and an AquaClear 20 Power filter. But whatever you decide to do, make sure you do your research first. Hope this helps! -Andrew

Ok Thanks! There isnt any black on his face, just on his body. There is no black on the stripes either so its not any kind of burn or anything.

Ok cool. Thanks Cindy! The thing is, is that in the past week it has gotten more and more black pigments. It started around the head and is moving all the way down the back and body. Will it eventually be solid black on the body? -Andrew

Hello everyone, Ive had this clown for about 5 months now. I bought him when he was less than 1in long and now he is about 2 1/2in. When I bought him he looked like an O. Clown. But now he is starting to get these black splotches around his stripes and it looks like he might be a Percula Clown after all. Not the best pics but oh well. Here are some pics: Is this an O. I dont think that when he mixed the water makes any difference. I have always mixed my water right before using it and I have never had a problem. I have heard of this happening with xenia where people lose all of their xenia for no reason.

Karen, Well I only have an 8G and a 1G to take care of, and I think it is a pain to do water changes with them! I cant imagine changing 10G of water. I would go with the RO unit. It will be cheaper for you in the long run. And plus, you wont have to walk through the grocery store with your cart full of water anymore! Everytime I go to HEB to get some Distilled water there is only a couple jugs left. I just think of my fellow reefers.

Yeah hes still pretty stressed out, but his mouth has closed a little since the time I took the picture. I just got it last night so I will see how it does. The lighting for this tank is really high and probably overkill. lol. But since the tank isnt that deep not much light is lost. All my params have been stable for the past couple of weeks. And yes, its a crocea. I will probably have to sell it when it gets larger. Unless I build a custom tank like I want to, with MH.

^^Yeah I agree. Its sounds like a Derasa(SP?) clam to me. I just picked up a litte 1in Crocea clam yesterday! As you can see by the mouth, it is still pretty stressed about the move.
