medi
I have heard mostly good things about it, but I have also heard they have problems with microbubbles. Supposedly they have corrected the issue on the newer models. You will have to keep us updated. I have always been curious about their skimmers. blindside
Well hopefully it is a better model. I'm looking forward to testing it out!
JamesL
I had a sapphire skimmer for my Aquapod. Had some microbubble issues in the beginning, but after running it a while, and fiddling with the water level I got it running smoothly. Joshman now has it, so maybe he can chime in with his thoughts.
blindside
I had micro bubbles with the stock skimmer as well. For weeks. Now it seems to be running fine... Hopefully the sapphire does not fail me, or there will be a sapphire for sale here
+ACampbell
Patience... I think you gave up to early on the stock skimmer. You tank can still be considered new, don't expect any skimmer to pull out anything other than light tan colored water. I'd say give this sapphire skimmer at least a month before you decide if it will meet your needs. JMO

phamily
my stock skimmer on the Solana is actually working really well, alot better than the horror stories that i have read from other people. I got lucky i guess...it does need some adjustment with the o-ring to make it work right. I still have my sapphire from my Aquapod 24 that I plan to put in if the stock skimmer fails. Sapphire did really well on my Aquapod had some micro bubble problem at the beginning (most skimmer does anyway) but it broke in after 2 weeks and worked great. Since it's working fine i will just keep things as is:-)I wish EuroReef have a nano version. The RS-80 work wonder on my 75.

Will have to upgrade for that when it does come out www.nanoreefsystems.com/index.asp my stock skimmer on the Solana is actually working really well, alot better than the horror stories that i have read from other people. +ACampbell
It looks like the ns2.5-1 might fit the Solana. It would be hard to justify the $138 price tag when the stock skimmer does a good job. phamily if you decide to get one please review it for us. caferacermike
Then we'd be known as the site with the smallest and largest Euroreef skimmers.
landfish
I saw the euroreef nano skimmer at MACNA 2 year ago and it was cool looking. If you are talking about sapphire aquatics then it is a nice skimmer. All skimmers take about a week to break in. The owner of Sapphire is super nice and make beautiful acrylic equipment. They are located out of Houston so if you need any custom acrylic work I highly recommend them. If you have any issues with the sapphire I recommend contacting them.
