JEN H Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Hi guys. Wondering if anyone has any experience with denitrators on their systems? I have been reading a little bit and trying to decide if this is a good idea for our 210 gallon. Our nitrates aren't really high, but I really want to get them as close to zero as possible before starting to add corals. We are currently around 20 ppm. Do these things actually work? Thanks! Quote
mikedelgado Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 I recently hooked one up on my 215. It to my amazement works so far . the effluent measures 0 nitrates. I dont think I will ever have 0 nitrates in the tank. Too many hungry big fish. Also if I dont stay on top of my ro/di I get nitrates in my make up water when my di resin is exhausted, and it exhausts pretty fast. I think salado water supply is sending sewer water to my house.I try not to think about it when I am having a glass. Quote
JEN H Posted December 15, 2008 Author Posted December 15, 2008 Thanks for the info. How long have you had it on your tank now? Quote
mikedelgado Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 my reef is about 7-8 years old. Its been in this 215 for about 2 years now Quote
