what is this orange thing growing beneath the rocks

I'm going with an encrusting sponge. The multiple oscula (little holes that let the circulating water leave the sponge) are all coming out of the same body. That is more in line with a sponge than the more advanced tunicates. If you can cut a little piece off and it all looks like the same stuff, its a sponge. There is no tissue differentiation in a sponge and only a couple of different types of cells. Looks really awesome and sponges are great little water filters that remove a lot of organics from your tank.

Now that the dead nem is out, is the tank ROCKING along again?

Awesome!  Thanks.

Actually I can never get that nem out.  Anyways, he was in the deep end of that tank, underneath rocks that I can't get too.  Well everything is slowly reviving.  I still have a pagoda that never fully open, but I think it will survive.  Probably just takes time.
