scubasteve92
Thanks! I will try! I am planning on adding Kryptonite Candy Canes, a hammer and/or torch, a frag of Birdsnest (once my phosphate are back to 0.00), and maybe switch out some of the more common zoas/palys for some more rare ones. I had setup my RODI unit to have a 5g jug always full for water changes and ATO fills which was awesome but this means that I neglected to flush the membrane for over 3 months.. this lead to the water coming out of my unit to have phosphates at 0.05 (I think it was higher, fixed this a month or so ago). I so flushed the membrane for about 5 minutes and then tested the water and I was back at 0.00. I also got a dremel 4000 today I explained to Savanna (gf ) that it was an awesome tool for cut wine bottle and doing arts and crafts with. She was onboard!
FarmerTy
The tank looks awesome Josh! Hope that hanna phosphate trick bought you some time to dissolve your reagent! Just a quick thought, from how I'm reading it, it seems like you have your RO/DI water automatically fill up when your topoff uses any water at all. I had a system setup very similar until I realized that the dirtiest water your RO/DI system makes is in the first few minutes when it starts making water. If you have it plumbed to fill up immediately when used, then you're basically using the dirtiest RO/DI water your system makes to topoff your system. What I've done is put in a manual lever and when my ATO bucket gets low (every 5-8 days), I turn the switch and presto, it fills up entirely and then stops via my float valve. I hope to have this switched out from a manual switch to a electronic switch that I can activate via my apex. Then I'll just program it to actuate every 5 days and fill up my ATO bucket. Then the only thing I'm responsible for is flushing my membrane every month or so.

I have a 2.5g tank for the ATO container. I just liked having a jug of water ready to go without having 3 or 4 jugs of water sitting around. I like the idea of your setup and yeah utilizing the apex would be even better! I wanted to attach the float I was using in the 5g jug into my ATO container so that whenever I needed water it would automatically fill up the ATO after the it was close to empty. But.... my apt complex probably wouldn't be too happy with me running water line throughout my apt. Oh well, something to do once we have our own place. I'm not dealing with more than 4 to 5g at a time.

scubasteve92
Quick update: Blenny is sold. Decided to go with a clown pair at some point. Got a few new corals and have been rearranging the tank quite a bit. I added an Innovative Marine Protein skimmer to the tank. I also took the reactor offline and will probably just use it for carbon every now and then and maybe some GFO if and when needed. I also have been working on a frag tank. It will be an independent system in my room with a 15g display and a 20g sump. I will probably run it with only live rock seeded from my fusion 20 and a protein skimmer. Not much more required besides water changes. I haven't decided what light I want to run yet but I am wanting to do LEDs since it will be mainly zoas/palys, a few softies, and some LPS. My plan for the Fusion 20 is to do mainly SPS and a few lps and a couple of choice zoas/palys. Lots going on and hopefully I can post some pics up soon (need to rearrange all the coral in my sand bed..) Thanks for reading!
