I'm not usually home when they come on, so no telling how long it's been doing this. Would you consider that normal behavior for them? Its a PFO 400 Watt Dual HQI Metal Halide Ballast. Entropy Posted February 4, 2008 Share Posted February 4, 2008 The only thing I would be concerned with is if one is considerably hotter than the other. The hum is unfortunately normal with magnetic ballasts. You should hear the 1000w version in our warehouse. I don't know how the guys work back there.
