nvrEnuf
as some of you know I not-so-long ago traded a back-up overflow (only used when the first and second which each can handle 100% of return flow) to use for supplying my turf scrubber. Guess where this thread is going !!? 1. Came home to air bubbles....oops forgot to turn on the ATO this morning....turned on ATO. I am still getting used to the precip from the ATS not much thought given. 2. Daughter plays with cleaner shrimp for a "shrimpicure" and high water alarm goes of.....normal. 3. Daughter done, 5 minutes goes by.....Bubles in display again....WTF?????? 4. Tank <1 cm from overflowing .......O M G W T F ????????? 5. unplug return....start investigationg. 6. find my two largest turbo's.....one in each durso!!!!! Every other crab and snail I have wouldn't cause a problem. This is kinda how Jan 2014 has gone so far...I guess I'll secure some screen or cover the overflow box!!!! Jeez, thank goodness I was home! Check your overflow inlays people. If they aren't already snail and crab proof they should be, this is (now I know) just as important as QT! Planeden
Yikes. Tht's scary. A shrimpicure? Yeeegggghsssh. Chills. Oh, and glad you had tose alarms and avoided a mess. I think chop Walters (waters?) was making snail guards for something. May be worth checking out.
