FloridaBoy
I've got two hammer corals and a galaxea that have been doing great up untill two weeks ago. On of my hammers started closing up for most of the day. Then after a week it refused to open at all. I've moved it around the tank a few times hoping it just wasnt happy where it was. Higher lower flow, light levels etc. Last night i moved it close to my galaxea which has been thriving thinking that spot in the tank had favorable conditions. Well, this morning the galaxea is acting sick also! Now I'm thinking that the hammer had a disease and I just spread it. The other hammer is doing great and is seperated from the others. Any advice what it could be? Should i cut my losses and pitch them or do you think there is a chance for recovery?
+dapettit
Is there brown mucus on the hammer. The galaxea is very aggressive I would move the hammer way from it. I would also run carbon. JMHO,
FloridaBoy
No, no brown mucus. I've been watching it closely. Its just completely contracted into the skeleton. I've been able to coax it out slightly by spot feeding it a couple of times, but now that doesnt work.
FloridaBoy
Yes, running carbon. Water parameters are good. Temp and salenity good. Everything else doing fine: zoas, palys, shrooms, acan.
