When I do water changes, I unplug it. So when water gets low it doesn't pump in fw. But when I plug it back in, it runs for 15 or 20 seconds no matter what the water level. I just changed my water and the the eye was under water. I plugged it in and it ran for 20 seconds.

Is this normal? What should I do for a water change? Are we not unplugging during water change?

the only other thing u can do is slide the sensors down outta the bracket and put it at the bottom of the sump leaving it fully submerged until u r done with water change and then slide it back into bracket. Then it never senses or thinks it was w/o water. I just unplug mine.

Knowing that it's going to run for a bit when it gets plugged back in, you can just hold a cup under the tube until it's done or hold the tube over your ato reservoir.
