victoly Posted March 31, 2013 Share Posted March 31, 2013 i like the redundancy of 2 fixtures, 2 ballasts. that way you have something if one goes out. Also, depending on your layout, 1 400w over a 4' tank might force you to move up your fixtures to get good spread, which kind of defeats the purpose. Woods Posted March 31, 2013 Share Posted March 31, 2013 I agree with Ian, the 2 x 250 is what I would go with, as the 400 may be too much of a change from 2 x 175 and stress your corals too much. Either way, I would reduce the length of time the lights are on for a few weeks so they can adjust to the higher wattage and then slowly increase the time back up to where it is today... haze152 Posted March 31, 2013 Author Share Posted March 31, 2013 Here is the next problem the ballist I was using was a Hamilton so both ballist are in 1 box. Only one burnt up but it was from my skimmer that over flowed on to box so I don't feel safe pluging back in. Do you think tank will be ok for 48 hours just running 2 t5 ho attinic bulbs?
