adamyaws
Hello All: 2 weeks ago I got a maroon and gold stripe clown mated pair which are doing well. Last Friday I got a green BTA that had been at the store for about 2 days. Anyway, the clowns are looking great (took right to the BTA) and so is the anemone. My question is this: about 4 hours after putting the BTA into the tank, it moved under a rock ledge. This is where the anemone remains today. It's a bit squished up in there but the tentacles are out and the clowns are hosting in it 24x7. It accepts food regularly so it seems to be healthy. Is this uncommon for it to be under there almost a week later? I'd really like it to be out but don't want to move it since it's attached and seems happy. My tank is the following: 55g 2x175W 10K MH 77 degrees (chiller) 1.025 SG 500 Cal 6 dkh 8.2 ph 0 ammonia 0 nitrites 5 nitrates 0 phosphate Thanks for your help! hobogato
dont mess with it, bubble tips like to have their foot in a shaded or protected area where they can extend into the light. sounds like it found the perfect place in your tank
adamyaws
It definitely does that! It will stick itself out into the light in the afternoon... Thanks!
GKarshens
When I got mine it wandered around for about 2 weeks and kept crawling into holes. I kept moving it thinking it was stupid. Once I finally left it alone it found a comfortable spot and stayed there. So I too say let it be.
thedude
As others have said, that's exactly what BTA's like to do. Find a crevice to wedge their foot into then stretch out towards the light. On another note I was looking at your parameters, your CA is a little high and your KH is a little low. Try adding something to bring your alkalinity up and lay off the calcium supplements for a little while. John
