Recently we've received several PMs from members who have been frustrated with buying and selling items on the board. The most common complaint regards rude buyers or sellers. This can be someone who commits to buy (or sell) and then doesn't follow through, doesn't communicate, or just acts rude in some other form or fashion.

First and foremost, this is a club and a hobby, it should be FUN. Sellers should clearly define the terms under which they are selling, the prices they are selling for, and the best means to communicate with them. Buyers should realize that if they commit to buy then they should follow through OR NOTIFY THE SELLER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if the situation changes. Similarly sellers should communicate if the situation changes in any way, sometimes fish and fragged corals don't make it or aren't in good enough condition to sell.

The software we use allows you to rate other members of the club. You do so by clicking on their user name to view their user Profile, where you'll see a series of Gray and Gold stars.

Click on the number of stars you would like to rate them (1 is lowest, 5 is highest).

Widespread use of ratings will help other members determine who is a good buyer/seller/member in the club without devolving into name-calling and trash-talking.

Overall though, let's remember that your actions affect other members. We're all here for love of the hobby, so let's focus on keeping it fun and respectful!
