+Capt. Obvious
As silly as it sounds, i am considering making a few small reactors for my daughter's pico tank. is there any reason why making a small phosphate reactor wouldn't work (and I do understand the challenges of getting the flow to be low enough for something sooo small, but i have a few ideas (manifold one pump to several reactors and a fuge). is there any reason say a 5 FL. OZ. (or less) reactor wouldn't work? if not (other than the entire idea is silly - which I know it is) I think I will make an interesting how-to in a few days... AquaJohn
well if it has a fuge why not use that to hook the reactors to ? the only thing you might run into with a phosphate reacor on a small tank would be stripping to much out for coral to survive. +Capt. Obvious
Well the fuge is just a modified hob filter and i will probably use in so manner to hang the reactors, i guess ill test it out...
Timfish
I guess since GFO can affect the alkalinity the concern would be using to much but if you follow the manufacturers dosing rates that shouldn't be an issue. Are you using a seperate pump or plumping it into an existing pump? What are you using for the chamber itself? Are you going to do a thread in the DIY section on how you make it? +Capt. Obvious
Most likely a separate pump, but in the hob, I was thinking cigar tubes, or testubes, maybe even a toothpick holder or epoxy vial. And yes, there will be a DIY if successful...or daring...or drunk enough to attempt.
