polarbear
So Im making RO/DI water and I went out to check on the unit and noticed that the water pressure on the gage is reading 85 psi. It's never gotten over 70 psi so i am worried that it might spring a leak because of all of the pressure. Should I be worried? I am not running a boosting pump either. AquaJohn
I would say if its a non DIY you should be fine Water pressure to a home can be up to 90psi or at least thats how it was in California so I am sure the units are built to go well over that. If you are worried about it go to hardware store they have water presure regulators I would guess under 15 bucks.
polarbear
Well I went out to check it again and it's showing 75 now. I'll continue to check it.
AquaJohn
the city probly was doing work on the lines some place and shutting down a section could raise the presure or there was a surge from when they turned it back on.
offroadodge
it wont hurt, as long as IF its john guest fittings and u push them in ALL the way the pull out slightly to tighten it up. If you know what i mean about pulling back against the fitting. i have turned mine up to 90psi and no problems
wa1tx
I run a booster pump and mine is consistently 90-95psi. No issues in the 9 months it has been set up.
afgun
Same here. Boost mine to 90 and it works just fine. Find your mfrs paperwork to get the maximum pressure to use. Membranes work better at higher pressures anyways.
