Automaticboy6
Newer to the hobby, but here's my 90 tank. Been up and running for a month and a half. Suggestions appreciated. ! - 90 gallon RR Aqueon tank - 60 lbs live rock - 50 lbs live caribbean sand - Red Sea Coral Pro Salt - Aquaticlife 48" 4x54 T5 w/ 4 lunar LED light fixture - 2 Hydro Koralia Evolution 1400 GPH powerheads - 20 gallon L sump - 200 W heater - Mag 12 return pump - SRO 2000I protein skimmer - And an Aquaticlife RO/DI Think that sums it all up. Any thing that I have left out, or should consider before adding livestock, let me know!
Robb in Austin
More rock, like double what you have, triple would be even better. I'd also suggest moving your powerheads to the sides. But, if you get a good mix of flow you should be ok. Try aiming them so they cross right in the middle. Edit: moving to tank build
Juiceman
+1 on more rock, the more the better in my opinion
JasonJones
What are your goals for the tank and what kind of corals/fish do you want to keep? That will help when it comes to suggestions. I respectfully disagree with the above two. I think the amount of rock you have is fine, but I would probably rearrange it some. Use some epoxy, superglue, acrylic rods, or other materials to make a nice rock structure that is more open with caves and overhangs, etc... Here is a small example of what I mean. This is a 12g I put together for my wife. It has only 6 lbs of rock, and about 10 different pieces of rock, that were all glued together.
Automaticboy6
when my powerheads were on the sides, it was kicking up the sand .
