Yngeinstn
Decided to share my 150g build. Since it was so hard to find a good design from the web decided to go head and modify some exisiting ones. Pictures are included. Credit for the sump goes to someone on the web. Comments and Suggestions are welcome. Enjoy. Next week comes the water test after the plumbing will post pics as we go.
Robb in Austin
That stand looks like it could hold a car. How heavy is it? How big is the sump?
Yngeinstn
It is pretty heavy i would say just under the weight of the tank lol.. i was concerned about stability so i wanted to beef it up. The sump is a 40 gallon breeder i picked up for $30 .. LOL the glass inserts cost me more than the tank.
Yngeinstn
UPDATE- Stand Done Plumbing Done - it was a nightmare to stop the leaking bulkheads. Sump Working Lights will be in a couple of week - Aquaticlife 72' T5 HO After 2 weeks of running woke up and found the center glass support hanging from the back. The front had come loose. Quickly measured and found a 0.5" bow in the front. Drained the water and decided to remove the back part to do a complete install with new fresh silicone. After cleaning up the glass that was removed i broke it. went to the local glass company and got a new 1/2" 18 x 17 1/8 glass cut. Currently letting the silicone cure. Going to add some PVC to the bottom to raise the rock off the sand to allow more room for a future Ray / Shark (my son has beeing dieing to get one in there) Slowly but surely it is coming together just need to add some more LR to the sump to add to the filtration. Thoughts and Opinions welcome. Only my 2nd tank.
