Chad and Jen May
I would like to upgrade the stock lighting on my Biocube8 to MH. Currently have zoas, palys, GSP, mushrooms, one adorably tiny RBTA, and two juvenile clownfish that are close to being big enough that Ill need to trade them for smaller fish. I found a clamp-on fixture on CL that houses one 150w MH with a 20k bulb (I can change this out if too much) and Im wondering if it would be too much light? wesreyn
I think that may give everything in the tank a sunburn. It will definitely warm up the 8 gallons of water pretty quick. I think a 70 watt halide would be perfect. You could also do leds fairly inexpensively on a tank that small.
Tavio
+1 on the 70 watt, look into the JBJ Viper w/ fan

jestep
One of the evil Par38's would be a good match as well - http://www.nanotuners.com/product_info.php?products_id=699 I've seen them on similar sized tanks with good results.
