trozacky
My tank floor started getting covered in a large area 6"x12" with a red algae. It was producing a lot of bubbles. Im due for a water change but what is it? I just mixed it up into the crushed coral. Was that a no no and is it something I need to treat? +C Lo Slice
I've got the same thing going right now on a rock. I'm just going to suction mine off while doing a water change tonight.

RobR
Sounds like cyano, like C lo said suction it out when you do water changes. Cyano is tough and you may need to do a number of things to beat it, suction it out, cut back on the amount you feed, get some macro to compete for nutrients, and skim, skim, skim... There are other things you can do as well look around the 12th post in this link: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2024709&highlight=cyanobacteria and there is some good info on some other techniques. Hope that your fish are okay.
