NonSequitur
I finally did it.. finally made the jump to a bigger tank. It started a few days ago, my wife and I were in the living room, she was reading, I was looking at the forum when I saw a couple of clownfish for sale. "Ooh! I want these!" I tell her.. "but won't adding more fish raise your nitrates?" Then the words every married reefer wants to hear: "You need a bigger tank." So the search began. I finally came across a post from Prof listing a 55gal with stand and lights for a very reasonable price and a few hours later it now sits in my bedroom, waiting for my RO to slowly make enough water to fill it. I'm probably going to convert my current 12gal aquapod into a seahorse tank. Anyway, here are the setup pics: I think I'll need more rock, but the first 40lbs are in and the lights are on. blindside
Paint, or use a background on the back of the tank while you still can! Looks good so far
NonSequitur
Paint, or use a background on the back of the tank while you still can! Looks good so far I'm thinking of making a background of some sort, that way I can play with colors and such until I find what I like. NonSequitur
Picture it.. the tank is halfway full.. I've just poured 3 more buckets of water, the RO is drained, I'm drained and getting ready for bed. And then it dawns on my wife and I.. we're going to be replacing the flooring in the bedroom soon. The tank has to be moved. I had compltetely forgotten the 7 P's (Proper Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance) I guess I'll be going by Home Depot tonight to get one of those big trash cans to hold the water while I move the tank. At least it wasn't totally full.
JamesL
Doh! I cam here thinking you had a leak (which I am glad was not the case). Those big trash cans come in handy for mixing saltwater down the road.
