razataz
I'm probably not going to like the answer to this question. I bought a used 75 gal oceanic tank and it gets thick salt creep on the back corner seem from top to bottom am I asking for trouble?
caferacermike
Does the tank have an overflow that diverts water to a sump? If not, how high do you keep the water? If the water is to high it can wick over and between the trim. If the silicone that holds the trim on only has a gap in that corner, it may be showing itself over there. If you have a reef ready with overflow and it's still doing that, then chances are the water level is not to high and yeah, bad things afoot. Hopefully you can find it and it isn't a leak. caferacermike
Yeah........well..........oh......... Then you might need to start snooping around cause it probably isn't to full. Any hang on eqpt or over zealous powerheads? Just trying to find any other reason for it to not be a seam. But I can't.
razataz
My wife is not going to be happy with me a got behind the tank and it looked like I painted the stand white. and it was wet. Can a tank be resealed at a reasonable price. Are cheaper to get a different tank
Timfish
Salt will pull the humidity out of the air (put a tablespoon on a plate and come back in a couple of hours, it's amazing how much water can collect) so the dampness may be from the rain we've had. The advantage of a new tank is a warrenty and moving everything should be less than a day vs having to hold your animals and rock someplace for a week or more.
