Will
What is the name of the epoxy that you can use in your tank (that can be found at home depot or lowes locally) as i would rather not pay $15 a tube at aquadome.
chrisfowler99
I believe it's Aquamend
Timfish
I believe it's Aquamend I think Aquamend has been discontinued by HD, or at least I haven't seen it in a couple of months. Waterweld is what I'm using now. I'd use anything that says it's safe for potable water but my guess is most of the other epoxy puttys would work OK also. Will
is it normal for your skimmer to go nuts (micro bubbles, overflowing ect) from this?
caferacermike
Yep, that's why I quit using epoxy. There seem to be some that people don't have troubles with but I always did. Gotta kill the skimmer for about 6 hours....
Will
i didnt have trouble when i bought the marine epoxy at aquatek and aquadome. teaches me not to buy the cheap stuff, again.
Hamp
Also the amount of epoxy you buy at the LFS is usually more than at Home Depot. So really your not saving a whole lot.
acropoorer
If you want to save $$ and get a fast setting epoxy, get it from marine depot. They have the 2 little fishies AquaStik in stone grey and coraline red, 9.99 and 10.99 respectively. These are the big 4oz sticks. I have used it all and find this to be the fastest setting and best colors (white is the worst). Just be sure to get it with a big enough order to avoid the shipping cost. http://www.marinedepot.com/miscellaneous_epoxy-ap.html
