OgreMkV
Seems like a nice unit. Pretty well built. I've got to cut a hole in my tank lid, so that'll have to happen tonight or tomorrow morning before the lights come on.
lexiemc
um, any suggestions on the best way to do that w/out fragging up or cracking the plastic cover. It's critical to keep fish in, paws out and support lights too. No we do not have a dremel.
Hamp
I would look into getting a dremmel. They are handy for your reef tank in many ways. They are pretty cheap at Lowes right now, and you cant beat it for cutting precise holes in plastic.
Chad and Belinda
+1 on the dremmel
+Eckreef
I live in round rock and have a dremmel that you are welcome to borrow for the weekend. PM me if interested. Caferacermike did the same thing for me and it was so helpful that I eventually bought one...though I have not had much opportunity to use it.... OgreMkV
Lexie is on her way to borrow her brother-in-law's dremmel. I can't wait to get it installed.
OgreMkV
INstalled with no problems. So far no skimate in the collection cup, but I'm seeing some nasty dark bubbles in the tube.
Hamp
Mine took about a week to start pulling good skimmate. Its a great skimmer once it breaks in a little.
lexiemc
Well it looks like the mushroom are enjoying the change in flow since they are all nearly doubled in size and dancing fiends. But the real test is how the Elegance will manage with other tank mates.... and a skimmer to help break down their "nasties."
