Hitchhiker ID

This is a hitchhiker I found on a coral from AquaSD. It’s about the size of a dime and attached to the rock. My best guess would be a fungia but the small ones I’ve seen (nickel to quarter size) were buds and still had ‘stems’ and to my knowledge don’t attach to rock.

Any ideas?

Hmm.. if it was a fungia, you should be able to poke it/pester it so it retracts it tentacles to see the underlying plate. It looks like some type of anemone, but not one I have seen before.

Sorry, should have added that I have gently prodded it and the tentacles do retract leaving a hard structure. Do some of the fungia attach? When I first got it in I did push on it with my finger to see if it would come loose and it seemed quite firmly attached.

I haven't heard of fungia attaching to rock work before. Plus the more I look at it, the more I don't think it is a fungia due to the number of tentacles it has. Back to the drawing board... but at least it points to some type of LPS.
