pbnj
Are the Mag-Drive 24 pumps as loud as a lot of people say they are? Honestly, I have a Mag-Drive 18 as my return pump in my current system and I can barely hear the thing. How does the 24 compare to the 18 in terms of noise? Either seems like overkill on a 75G tank, if thats what you need it for. Cheers,

Cheers, The 18 works fine on my 75g because it goes through a chiller first. Looking at the 24 for my 240g.

Why not do an external pump such as a Dart, on the big tank?? Cheers,

Cheers, I just prefer the piece of mind of an internal pump, i.e., once less leak to worry about. I'm also looking at the new Water Blaster pumps coming out in May. They come with a 3-year warranty and have a silicone nitride shaft and bearings. Calcium will not adhere to this material.
