Ok, i traded edgar for this. turns out it is not a conch, but a tiger cowrie. anyone interested can trade me, or it will go to a lfs. cowries clean, BUT, they are reef safe with caution. they can eat nems, seastars and soft corals, if not WELL fed. i have an anemone i could not stand to see harmed. so, with that said, if you have problem nems, or some algae, it can take care of it,

I will take corals/snails/hermits for trade.

  3. Oh no, she was not too much trouble at all, and i was happy to see her through her recovery. I had to choose between catching her, or stressing the tang more. I knew she could take the move to a new tank easier. she is a beautiful girl.

UPDATE on the tank. week 2 of the TLC SAT and i have almost NO algae. I also added carbon, and a phosban to a canister filter. will post pics tonight.

  4. Does your board support it? it should. you would just need to set the jump to master, and push in the ribbon cable, connect that to slot 1 (should be marked) and then power.

yeah, wide grey one, ribbon cable 18pin ide many dif names

    i am in chat

  5. I like how you rock is stacked! How much rock do you nave in your tank and how long has the tank been set up?

hard to say :). i had 60lbs of it in a 55gl for about 2 months, then moved to the 90gl, started to cycle some more, added 50lbs more rock, looks like it has started a bit of a cycle too. i have a canister set up with carbon, but i need to get some gfo. was going to try to get in on the BRS group buy, but i might be a little short on money. was thinking of asking if someone could spare some for $5-$10. and thx for the compliment. i had to change it up a bit. had to remove most of it to catch the banana wrasse, it was attacking the tang, and the poor scopas started to show signs of ick.

  6. 6" banana wrasse: she is healthy and very active. however, she did not like my new scopas tang, so she has to go. accepting trades for corals or algae/detritus eaters: tangs, lawnmowers, crabs etc/ of free. bring a container.

  8. after your replies, i looked em up. does not have a gasket, but i read you could easily find one at home depot etc. thnx guys. looks like that is the smallest i will find. i like the colors the tubing is available in. looks like i can finally color code drain and return lines differently. what is the diameter of the hole that is needed to be drilled?

  9. I am interested in making miniature "reef" tanks, say in the range of .25-5gl. was not sure if the term pico would really fit. I would like to plump them with sumps, but i have not seen a bulk head or comparable device for anything tubing smaller than 1/2". My question is: does anyone know of a "bulkhead", or equivalent, that i could use to drain water through a hole in glass, and connect tubing to?
