Nice corals John! I still LOVE my Blue Milli
Are those pics under actinics? Be nice to see them with a little daylight... Is that blue lemonade A. Nasuta?
I don't think it is. The "Northern Lights" is an A. Nasuta, though.
-
Are they pendants, and they come with the ballasts and all the wiring?
-
I had them once, but only saw like 4 or 5 of them. They did eat my Coralline. :S They died after I added my One-Spot Foxface (RIP).
-
Oh wow.... that is pretty dang impressive!
-
The "fuzzy things" are polyps. If you're seeing them, that is a good thing! As previously stated, you'll start to notice some white tips, which means its growing. They need Calcium to grow, so make sure to watch your levels. Also, don't expect this coral to encrust (form a "plate" that "molds" over the base of the coral, and what its attached to), because this species doesn't.

Could it really be a scam? He put an address down.
Hopefully he responds. :S

Heya! Welcome to ARC! Sounds like you're off to a great start, except for the damsels. They can be pretty nasty!
Good luck and let us know if you need any help. We've got quite a bundle of extremely SW experienced people here!

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it tomorrow. I've got to help set up for a banquet at my school.
Dave,
The ballast burned up inside, and started smoking. I think it was because of a power surge, as that is when I started noticing something funky. :s Just glad it didn't burn the house down!

Whoa! Christian, that is a BEAUTIFUL tank. Sure wish I had something comparable.

Hey everyone!
So, recently, I had a little "burn out," with my electronic MH ballast, and I've had my MH off for a little over a week now.
Well, the good new is, I got two new magnetic ballast from Mike (Caferacermike), thinking that my father knew how to hook them up. Well, unfortunately, he doesn't!
I was wondering if there was anyone out there able to help me hook these suckers up? I, nor my father, have any idea what we're doing anymore. :s
These are the ballasts (or they're pretty similar).

Thanks in advance,

I'm not sure about the first, but the second looks like some sort of Star Polyp, and the third is a Palythoa of some sort.
-
You could try adding a Fiji Purple (great for showing reds) and some Blue bulbs if you're going for a more blue look. Though, you should note that Actinic and blue aren't exactly the same thing.

Great pictures here!
Good luck to everyone!

Wow! Thanks so much!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DENA!

Really just anything that can get the job done.
If you're willing to sell one I'd be glad to buy it, It'll just take me a bit to raise up all the funds.
-
Going to have to buy a new ballast, as mine gave out.
If you have something you're willing to part with, that isn't too expensive, I'd love to buy it.
I'm looking for:
Metal Halide
250w,
SE,
Magnetic or Electronic (Preferable Electronic if you have it).
All the stuff to hook it up.
Thanks!

I have some Calupera mixed in with some Chaeto if you want it. It's like a forrest in my refugium, haha.
-
Here you go, Rjohn.
-
Congrats on getting started!
Best of luck to you! And I agree with Mark. Bigger tanks are easier to take care of.
-
I really hope you can find her a good home. She's very cute!
If I can think of anyone who would be willing to take her, I will contact you immediately.

Yes! It is by far my favorite piece in the tank. And YES! It is HUGE!!!
