  1. Got this cute little guy from Jake at RCA earlier this week. I love the personality of blennies, and the face paint on this one is awesome.

    SPS FRAGS

Northern Lights, plz. Your PM box is apparently full.
  3. You might try trolling through the 3D Warehouse, but you're probably not going to get off that easy.
  4. I've used it some, and I've been pleasantly surprised and impressed. Takes a little while to get used to the controls, but there are lots of tutorials and help docs. I designed a tank stand with it as well (although I've yet to have time to actually build the sucker!).
  5. I'm running two 250-watt MHs with T5 actinic supplimentation.
  6. You remember this piece? I bought the rock from you.
  7. I've seen enough miraculous recoveries of coral I was certain were toast that I never remove a "dead" coral until it gets overgrown with algae. The following pictures illustrate my point. I bought some live rock back around Christmas from a fellow reefer. He pointed to a bare patch and mentioned that it was actually the base of a montipora that had bleached out. I chipped the mystery monti from the surrounding rock and set it on the sand bed of my reef tank to see if it would recover. The first pic is about six weeks after I bought the rock, and it's just starting to blush with some color. The second pic is about a month later, and it's definitely colored back up. Another month later, and you can see the new growth around the edges. The last pic is from about two weeks ago, and now I have a nice, healthy little mini-colony of monti that started off as a bleached-out smudge on a piece of live rock. Moral of the story - there's a reason this stuff has been around for a bazillion years. Give it half a chance, and you'll often be pleasantly surprised!
  8. I've got three leather frags for you to choose from. All are several months old with fully developed stalks.
  9. I've got some GSP you can have.
  10. Yep, made the assumption that the rock could be removed from the tank, but should have specified. Good catch, J.
  11. RotaryGeek makes a good point. However, if the perfect circles bother you, it looks like the plugs have been mounted using Aqua-Mend or a similar putty. If that's the case, they should pull off with a good pair of channel-lock pliers.
  12. I've got some grape caulerpa you're welcome to. PM me if you're interested. Derry
  13. In the interest of full disclosure, I'm not familiar with the SeaChem product Derek mentioned. However, I used BRS' two-part dosing kit for years to good effect. It's affordable and easy.
  14. I've got a 2" toadstool frag you can have, as well as some of the dragon's breath zoas I bought from you ages ago if you need a reboot on those, too. Just let me know.

    Skimmer

The trick to keeping a skimmer in the sump is maintaining a consistent water level for the skimmer to run in. If you can manage the water level in the skimmer chamber, I'd lean toward an in-sump model for the simple reason of flood control. If your internal skimmer overflows in the sump, big deal. If your external skimmer overflows on your living room floor,...

    Can I get 15 kedd's reds?
  17. I think "amusingly tolerant" would best describe my wife's relationship with my tank. It's actually her favorite room to read or study in b/c it's pretty to look at and makes soothing water noises. She's generally interested in how all of the critters are doing, she gets excited for me when I get excited about something that's going particularly well, she's sad for me when someone goes carpet surfing, and she patiently glazes over when I start rattling off Latin names for things. I've asked repeatedly over the years what she'd like to see in the tank, and she honestly doesn't care. She just wants it to look nice. Exactly what I choose to put in the tank to achieve that goal doesn't matter very much to her. She's even letting me set up a 110-gal predator tank and is graciously living with a six-foot aquarium sitting on the floor of the fish room while I build the tank stand. There are, however, two things that will make her upset about the tank. As many have mentioned already, spending too much time on the tank for too many days in a row will get her grump on. The other is aesthetics - if I leave water change equipment lying all over the room, or if you can't see the fish for all of the algae growing on the front glass, then she wishes that I would find a different hobby.
  18. Courtesy bump for a great skimmer. I LOVE my RL 150!

    PAR meter

I got my lux meter from Amazon for only $20.
  20. Stephen, send you a PM.
  21. Yes. Someone is supposed to pick it up tomorrow, but if that falls through, I'll drop you a line.
  22. Bump - still available.
