Ok...for my own curiosity...do you know if you used Cree Cool White or Neutral White LEDs? (not looking to buy...thinking about building)
-
I've got at least that long until I need one...so that may be my best bet.
I'll have to remember that and not jump too soon.

No, Mike, I didn't say f'n huge, ridiculous, man-sized skimmer.
Gonna need a skimmer for the new (to me) 265 gallon tank that's coming.
I really like my SWC Xtreme Cone 160 skimmer that's running on my 75.
But to get the right sized SWC skimmer (SWC Xtreme Cone 250 1A) they seem to list for $749 and sell for $900-1000 (huh? )
Um...any other good/cheaper options? Or is that what I'm faced with spending no matter what way I go...provided I don't find a great used deal.
Thinking in-sump at this point, but not married to the idea.

When are you going to do one about how to convert your existing woman to giving a **** about the tank?

Chris did it!!! Tank sold.
I bought 150 lbs. of dry (Marco) rock for when I was planning on a 150ish gallon tank...
I think I'm gonna need more rock...

I sent a PM BTW
For me or for you?
Chad/Belinda, what's the return/overflow setup? I don't remember and hard to tell from the pics.

Oh, man...you're gonna make me have to think about this!!
Custom built dream tank (220g), in-wall, see-through, or an even bigger tank...and save a bunch of money...
You don't have the cajones. You've been on and on about this for like years.... You even drawed us a pitcher once.
I've been on and on about it for, like, months.
My wife would love this one, though...no hole in the wall.
84" and 31" depth...Would have to change the lighting plans too...crap. Should I just go ahead and paypal the money over?

There is a variable speed port module too, the AquaSurf.
And you pretty much nailed the differences.
I love my Apex.

I was following the creation of the shadowbox on MAAST and RC. Love the way it turned out.
If my next tank wasn't going to be a "see through" setup I'd be looking into setting up my own.
Welcome to ARC!

every summer someone loses their AC.
Lost my AC a couple of weeks ago...luckily I was home that day and was able to get someone out to repair it...lots of ice in the sump, though.

It's not too late Dena. You can still change your mind and I'll take it off his hands.

I swing 78-82, using a heater at night and a fan during the day...I'd like it to be less, but until I add a chiller to the system it won't be during the summer months.
-
I definitely prefer the way it's working now. Faster and less distracting.
-
That's actually kinda...no...really creepy!

I can't see it.
What browser? So far I've seen it work with both Chrome and Firefox.
On the "Active Content" page it doesn't seem to work for me for these two threads:
WTB fighting conch, nerite snails, & cerith snails
WTB Aqua C Remora Pro
But it pops up for the rest of the threads near the top.
weird.

Much better than having to click for the preview.

Those of you that do not use heaters, what kind of temperatures would make you think about using one? ie: how low are you willing to let your tank get before you'd be concerned?
(my heater pops on at night year round at 78 degrees...we keep the house cold at night.)

some really amazing pictures.
