  1. Same for me. I have 8 T5 HO on my 90 gallon and I keep the room temp at 73 or 74 and the tank temp is at 78 or 79. i also have 4 circulation fans in the tank as well.
  2. I might be up in Austin sometime. I'll make a frag for you and hold onto it.
  3. $15 for an inch frag. Trying to get the money to buy a this tank I found for my see horse. Really cheap with stand and everything. PM me and let me know if you want a frag or more. I'm making some this weekend already for another member.
  4. I told you they grow fast. It's crazy how good they do. The spot that was made when I took off the frag for you is completely covered again. I'll have to see how to get the recordias off.
  5. I have a fairly large colony of fairy dust polyps (FDP) that are on a rock with 3 of my ricordias. The FDP grow very fast and are growing up next to the ricordias. Should I be worried about this and move the ricordias or will they be ok with the FDP? Also, how do you guys control the grow of your polyps to keep them from growing onto surrounding rocks? Do I just cut them off and make frags?
  6. I have an older Berlin Triple Pass Skimmer (no pump) and some bioballs that I am looking to trade for some macro algae. I want to obtain a wide verity of macro for my refugium. I don't have a lot now and I know it will grow over time but I really don't want to wait for it all to grow. Let me know what you have to offer. I'm also looking for a nano cube for my sea horse. Maybe a 8 or 14 gallon biocube. I do have pictures but can't post them from my iPhone so I'll have to post them tomorrow. Thanks for looking.

I know this post is a little old but do you still have some?
  8. Hair algae is gone!!!!!!!

  9. Hair alage is gone!!!!!!

  10. Well I don't want to be the one here who tries it. I do water changes and will be doing one this weekend. Just wondering. Thanks for the input.
  11. If all water parameters are good, does there need to be a water change done? I know some people do one every week but what if everything is fine? Whats the other benefits of doing a water change if all parameters are good?
  12. Ok after many attempts to rid the tank of what I thought was GHA I Joe believe it's bryopsis. What should I do? I know everyone is saying to raise the Mg but what will it kill in my tank? I have all soft corals, 2 green BTA's, a star fish and the fish I stated in a prior post.
  13. Here are some water test results from today. Ca= 620ppm KH= 107.4ppm PO= 0ppm Nitrate= 0ppm Ammonia= 0ppm Mg= 1400ppm Ph= 8.2 Salinity= 1.024
  14. It's not bryopsis. It's GHA. I looked it up and mine looks nothing like this
  15. I use a filter soak but I change them out about every 3 to 4 days. Thanks for the advice every. Hopefully things start to look better within the next couple of weeks. Also, the hair algae that's on the sand is more of a brownish color. Is this GHA?
  16. I will cut back on the lights when I get home. As for feeding, I only feed once a day and add the food slowly as to not have extra in the tank floating around. I have not changed the filters yet in the RO system as they are only about 4 months old. I am going to replace the DI resin this weekend since it just started to show 001 TDS. I don't feed corals either. I'm going to try the 3 days of darkness this week and then do a water change this weekend. Hopefully it helps. Question: Do I leave the skimmer running during the 3 days of darkness? And do I cover up the tank with a sheet?
  17. I'm feeding a pellet food called spectrum marine formula as well as frozen Mysis shrimp which I rinse in RO water. As for tue water source, I have my own RO DI until and mix my own water. The tank has been set up sine April and yes I moved it from San Antonio. I bought the 90 gallon off a lady over there. Im useing a reef octopus skimmer that I bought this past weekend so I'm still waiting for it to fully break in. It's already pulling out junk but I'm hoping to does more once it breaks in. Will getting a sand shifting goby help with the hair algae on the sand?
  18. Well I have a lawnmower blenny and 4 turbo snails along with about 15 nassarius snails. I also have about 7 hermits.
  19. So I recently started to have an algae outbreak in my 90 gallon tank. I have been running GFO and carbon for about 2 weeks and nothing changed. So I went out and bought new T5 lights and a new skimmer. I scrubbed the algae off the rocks and cleaned the sand bed of the hair algae. Now after 4 days of running the new lights and new skimmer, I am still getting hair algae growing on rocks and the sand bed. I tested my water and had the pet store test it and everything was good even phosphates. I don't know what else to do. I thank my calcium is still high. Could this be causing alage growth? Any suggestions would be helpful as I don't want the tank to be victim of hair algae take over nor do I have the money to start over.
  20. Hey everyone, I got me a new skimmer this past weekend so I dont need my old one anymore. Im looking to trade it for some leather corals, zoas, etc and also some mangroves and other type of macro alage that I can add to my refugium. Let me know if you are interested. Here are a couple of pictures of the skimmer. Thanks.
  21. I'm really in need of a good skimmer. I'm starting to get hair algae in my tank. I have my BRS dual reactor with GFO and carbon going. I have a Berline skimmer running and it's pulling out a good amount of stuff but it's old so I need a newer one. Does anyone have a good skimmer for a 120 gallon tank (this is tank and sump volume)?
