  1. another thing you can do is use a UPS (battery backup power supply) for your return pump. that way, if power goes out, your return pump will continue to run for a few hours (depending on pump and UPS size) so you dont have to worry as much about your overflow losing a siphon.
  2. i dont have the most powerfull system, but in a good movie, the walls in the other rooms shake a bit, and i have never seen the fish act differently. in the bathroom not directly next to the room, i even found a small vase that vibrated off of a 4 inch wide shelf and fell to the floor.
  3. christy (my wife) had the same issue, and got that sonicare toothbrush a few years ago when her gums first started to receed. it took a long time, but hers recovered and she loves that toothbrush.
  4. are you sure your test kit is accurate? if i get weird results, i always borrow another test kit or take in a sample to the lfs just to make sure.

  7. dont mess with it, bubble tips like to have their foot in a shaded or protected area where they can extend into the light. sounds like it found the perfect place in your tank

  9. well, i finally decided to take the kalk and calcium reactor plunge. built these over the last couple of days, recirculating pump for kalk reactor should be here tomorrow, all i am waiting on now is a float valve for the RO reservoir for it. THANK YOU MATT FOR ALL OF YOUR HELP ON THAT!! all of the expensive stuff for the calcium reactor should be here on monday, so i should be putting both reactors on next week those with experience - would it be better to do them at the same time, or one at a time (a few days apart) any past experience or help is welcome - thanks
  10. yep, im in SA, on the northeast side (about 1 hour from 35 and 183 in Austin) not planning a trip to austin anytime soon, sorry.
