I know this is probably a long shot, but does anybody have any of the real Blane Pernum PPE's they wouldn't mind selling? Even one polyp would be great. Let me know
Thanks,
Mark

Thanks again Clint.

Clint, thanks for the website, can you let me know what retailer you went through to buy the tank? Thanks.
-
does the manufacturer have a website?
-
that is going to be one sweet tank.

I've seen tanks designed with part of the sump sectioned off to use as a frag tank. Just make sure you have enough light and flow down there. Something to think about though,is that you might be adding a considerable amount of heat down there, so keep an eye on that.

is it external or in sump?

I am looking to try to build up a pod culture, and I have done some reading. It doesn't seem like it should be difficult to get a decent population going.
I need a starting point, so does anybody know any local stores that sell pods? I have found some sites online that do, but I wanted to try locally first to avoid shipping, etc.
I am thinking of setting up 4 or so small tanks to see if I can get a decent set of populations going.
Any other thoughts on the subject?

I painted the back of my tank to cover up all the plumbing behind the tank. I figured I tried to keep as much equipment out of the tank as possible, but if you see my 3 miles of PVC behind the tank, then I wastedmy attempts to clean up the tank.[/i]

Thanks Mike, everything worked out great.

how are we paying/ordering? Are we placing separate orders and telling them to ship them together or is one person ordering all of it? If its the second way, should I pay somebody ahead of time or at pickup?
Thanks guys.

is it still possible to get in on this?
If so, count me in for:
Nassarius vibex: 12
Price: $10.00
Cerith Snail, Large: 12
Price: 15.00
Fighting Conch, Small: 1

I can pick up Friday afternoon to night, but not morning. Let me know.

I cannot believe this has not sold. What a great deal. I have thought about buying it just to have it sitting around.

Did you get the HD28 yet? I play an HD28V that I bought a few months ago, and I love it.

That is a great website. I esp like the seahorse/ric tank. That is amazing.
I agree...that ricordia tank is beautiful.
-
Thats great to hear. How are the zoas holding on?
-
I agree, a lot of tanks with the best aquascapes are wider tanks because it allows so much more flexibility. I think the best is a wider tank that is viewable from 3-sides that way you can really see everything in the tank.

well i have made the move to Austin, and checked out a few stores in town. I will be setting my tank up soon (just waiting to sell one of my guitars to buy some needed equipment). Hopefully in the next few weeks I will be up and running.

I think the phoenix 14K will be my next bulb too. I had a 20K AB bulb over my tank before and also noticed little growth. Could've been many other things as that tank wasn't the best set-up for SPS (flow- problems).

Thanks Sundra!

Sent you a PM about it. That looks perfect for what I was looking for.

wow, that picture is tiny, hopefully my description is clear.

I was trying to avoid the chiller if possible, but it appears that it might not be. I am thinking about putting a good sized rubbermaid container in a chest next to the tank (the only purpose of the chest is to keep it from looking ghetto) and connecting it to the system. I'm thinking I can double my water volume this way and use it for live rock or something along those lines (maybe even a skimmer if I get it big enough).
I don't know why the image is so small...its saved at just over 500 pixels wide on my comp. Anyway, this might get the basic idea across:
Yellow line is return, Red is drain.
I'm thinking I will run the tank drain to the rubbermaid sump, then have the return line go from the rubbermaind -> eheim -> tank. I'm assuming the eheim wouldn't have a problem sucking water from the rubbermaid tank even if I housed it a few feet away.
Do you think I would have heat issues if I use the rubbermaid idea with say 30 gallons of water in it (assuming I am using the 250 Watt MH and eheim 1262 and 1250) ? Thanks for the help guys.[/img]
