  1. I almost bought the one from aquatek, but decided against it. I wanted to wait a bit after losing my blue spot jawfish. They are great looking fish.
  2. Your best bet is to ask Roger over at the Tunze forum on reefcentral. Try: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/forumdis...p?s=&forumid=92 I think Roger lives here in Austin, and he is the Tunze distributor for the US.
  3. any updates on this project?
  4. sorry, forgot to say it, but PM me for my phone number if you need to borrow a pump.
  5. Was it your only source of water flow? If so, I would suggest getting something else in there ASAP. If you don't have anything lying around, I have a pump you can borrow. Its not a powerhead, but it will move water to keep the water oxygenated. What is the tank setup like? Reef tank, Fish only, etc?
  6. I got a chance to stop by there before I moved away from Florida. Absolutely stunning display tanks. I am going to have keep an eye out for a re-run of this.
  7. I have the 600 on my 30 cube. The only reason I went with it over the 300 is because I found one used for only 2 months at a pretty good price. I have had it running for a few weeks now and am getting good skimmate out of it considering my low bioload. Let me know if you ever want to come by and check it out. I had problems with microbubbles for the first few weeks, so I turned it off for a few days. I turned it back on yesterday, and its almost microbubble free.
  8. Did you have any microbubble problems with yours? I am still getting a lot of microbubbles out of mine. I was told on reefcentral that it was due to my tank being young (roughly 3 months old I guess). I turned it off, and plan to leave it off for a bit to let the tank mature a little more...otherwise my aquarium is more of a snow globe.
  9. so if we can't make the meeting, I'm assuming somebody will post the winner of the raffle.
  10. Wish I could go, but it looks like I have to miss another one. I have a final on Saturday morning, and another one the following tuesday. Have Fun.
  11. thanks. I contacted him on MAAST and it looks like I may be able to work something out in the next few weeks.
  12. I know this is probably a long shot, but does anybody have any of the real Blane Pernum PPE's they wouldn't mind selling? Even one polyp would be great. Let me know Thanks, Mark
  13. Clint, thanks for the website, can you let me know what retailer you went through to buy the tank? Thanks.
  14. So the raffle is going to be at the next meeting?
  15. does the manufacturer have a website?
  16. that is going to be one sweet tank.
  17. I've seen tanks designed with part of the sump sectioned off to use as a frag tank. Just make sure you have enough light and flow down there. Something to think about though,is that you might be adding a considerable amount of heat down there, so keep an eye on that.
  18. wish could have made it...had family in town. Hopefully I can make the next one.
  19. I am looking to try to build up a pod culture, and I have done some reading. It doesn't seem like it should be difficult to get a decent population going. I need a starting point, so does anybody know any local stores that sell pods? I have found some sites online that do, but I wanted to try locally first to avoid shipping, etc. I am thinking of setting up 4 or so small tanks to see if I can get a decent set of populations going. Any other thoughts on the subject?
  20. I painted the back of my tank to cover up all the plumbing behind the tank. I figured I tried to keep as much equipment out of the tank as possible, but if you see my 3 miles of PVC behind the tank, then I wastedmy attempts to clean up the tank.[/i]
  21. Thanks Mike, everything worked out great.
  22. how are we paying/ordering? Are we placing separate orders and telling them to ship them together or is one person ordering all of it? If its the second way, should I pay somebody ahead of time or at pickup? Thanks guys.
  23. is it still possible to get in on this? If so, count me in for: Nassarius vibex: 12 Price: $10.00 Cerith Snail, Large: 12 Price: 15.00 Fighting Conch, Small: 1 Price: $6.00 I can pick up Friday afternoon to night, but not morning. Let me know.
