  1. thanks for all your opinions.

I have a true perc and an ocellaris which both hosted a seabae anemone. They haven't gone near my duncan or xenia. I might pick up a hammer/torch tomorrow for the mean time. I'm thinking about getting a 70watt metal halide to retrofit as if I put a 175 on there it would probably boil the water. Once I have the new halide I'll go with the nem again.

  2. Well I've been through 2 anemones, one a seabae and the other a bubble tip. I'm trying to find a host for my clownfish but want something that will do well in me setup. I have a 10 gallon with 2 36watt power compacts. I'm thinking I need to revert back to a hammer or torch coral but thought I would get some feedback before I went forward. I appreciate all of your input.

  3. I'll see what it available in the wysiwyg during the week of the order. I was thinking about a frag of the sunset montipora. I was under impression that these needed metal halides but they said it would be fine in my setup. I have a 10 gallon with 2(36 watt) power compacts. This is what I was looking at. http://www.vividaquariums.com/10Expand.asp?ProductCode=05-6100-10&Category=Coral%20And%20Invertebrates:Montipora&SortBy=Price Any thoughts?

  4. What stores did you go to in S. Florida? Big Als has tons of live stock typically and a nice place to go pick up coral is Coral Reef Farm which if I remember correctly is right off of 95 on Sterling. To your question just bringing the coral back in a styrafoam box or a cooler with the corals and fish double or even triple bagged would be fine. Every time I make it down that way I take it with me on the plane and just check my bags. You got to remember corals and fish are shipped across the world so 21 hours in a car is fine as long as you have enough oxygen in the bags and are sealed properly. Both places I recemmended pack livegoods very well. Also in Ft. Lauderdale area off of Oakland Park Blvd. is Exotic Aquatic and they typically have nice livestock as well. I would stay away from Jawz which is off of Broward Blvd. their tanks never really looked very healthy.

  5. I'm going to be starting up a 180 in the near future and I've been looking at Warner Marine K2 / ATB 840 / MSX 2S / and Bubble King (vertex alpha 200). I think I'm going with one of the cone skimmers but I still have some time to research and see what I think will be the best route. Most of these will be fine on a heavily stocked 180.

  6. When do you expect this order to arrive? I saw that you were looking at around july 4th. I would be interested to get in on this order if I knew the order was arriving between Mon-Wed. My other question is are we able to order live rock on this order. I'm looking to get either the tonga or Vanuatu nano packages of 15 pounds.

  7. I'm looking for some small pieces up to about 15pounds of some nice live rock. vanuatu / tonga / nice fiji etc. hopefully with some descent coraline and color. I'm about to get my 10g up and running and I'll be ready for rock in the next few days. Let me know if you have any or any local store that would be best for live rock. if yo have some rock and could send me some pics that would be cool.

  8. Welcome!

B&O!! Awesome. Can we get ARC discount?!

I'll be able to manage something. If anyone is looking for some B&O just let me know what you are interested in. We are hoping to have the store up and running by July 15th but I think it's going to be more like August 1st.

  9. Sounds good guys thanks for the replies. I'm gonna be up there a few days this week, I'll try to swing by some of those locations. I want to pick up some tonga rock and get the nano cycling soon. The 180 is a work in process hopefully can have it up and running in August some time. What about Austin Aqua Farms, I know it's not on my side of town but from their site it's looks like they have some really nice pieces.

I work for Bang & Olufsen. If you never heard of the name, we do home entertainment and custom automation systems in homes. The store is going to be located in the second street district.

  10. Hey everyone. I've been follow this site briefly over the past few weeks as I'm relocating to Austin from Houston. I'm currently a member of MARSH in Houston and would like to eventually get involved with your clubs as well. The company I work for is relocating me up that way and our new store should open in the middle of July. Anyways I will be be running a 180 reef and a 10g nano. I'll be living on the west side of town off of 620 near the dam. Is there any stores near that side of town to pick up livestock/supplies?

    Thanks,

    Matt
