  1. nice build man! i might have to buy one when you mass produce!
  2. I will have 40G breeder as my sump/refugium, I would have gone bigger, but I need it be under the stand as I have no more room in the house, or out. I will be using an ATI bubble master 250 skimmer, as for my lighting, I'm going to go with 2 8 lamp tek light fixtures. I like there sleek look. It should look decent I believe and no, I have not tested the tank for leaks, I forgot to plumb the last 4 closed loop returns in the back of the tank I thought I did so last night, ha guess not.
  3. Ill test it tomorrow, it is the second time I plumb it the same way, first time, one minor leak, a few months ago, this time, I hope I skipped the leaks. Eventually there will be corals, all the fish I add will be reef safe, just in case.
  4. i finished the closed loop plumbing today, have not checked for leaks, but i feel pretty good about it. check out the pics! when i began once it was all said and done, its alot plumbing an 8way and what i have to hide once the rock is in...
  5. Yeah, same color as the wall, and no, I'm not worried, it will take a lot to heat up this size of a tank. Plus, I don't think I will be doing a crazy reef for a while. Might just be fish only for a while
  6. we got a nice 90 at RCA corey, and if not, we can get one in
  7. thanks for all the comments guys! should have this bad boy running in no time!
  8. HERE IT IS! FINALLY IN THE HOUSE! I WILL BEGIN TO PLUMB IT UP TOMORROW! STILL HAVE TO FINISH THE SUMP, BUT ALL OF THAT COMES FASTER THEN WHAT IT TOOK ME TO GET THE TANK AND STAND READY TO BE IN THE HOUSE. SHOULD BE RUNNING BY NEXT WEEK. IGNNORE THE BAD PICS, AND LEFT OVER GLUE ON TANK... I THNK I WILL ADD A CHROME OUTER BRACE TO COVER THE GLUE, SINCE I WONT BE USING A CANOPY ANYMORE.
  9. the tank might be drillable depending on the manufacturer, and if not that why not use an external overflow? beats purchasing a new tank, well unless of course its not a problem, and im sure the back or the sides of the aquarium are not tempered, there are companies that make internal overflow boxes for tanks with holes drilled on the back or sides, my tank has an internal overflow (removable) held by bulkheads. but my tank is acrylic, if you decide to purchase a new RR tank, come buy it from me
  10. i can see it now! so clear. i have decided to finish the stand before i set it up, give me a few weeks, gotta find time to paint sand add doors and i think thats it. it looks good guys. i still have to build a canopy too... i hope you guys can tell the difference. i also went ahead and painted the back, i tried the black film but it folded and wrinkled up while we tried it... ha so we went with plan B.
