This custom stand and canopy was made for my 55g tank and has a nice dark cherry finish. The top of the stand is set in 2" so you cant see the black brace that is on the bottom of the tank. The canopy is made the same way, to cover the black brace on the top of the tank.

il try to snap a pic of it before i head to work in the morning, the lights will be on then.

Peel it off if you can, but if that doesn't work you're going to have to scrub it off with a stiff brush or your fingernail. My recommendation is get rid of it before it takes over the whole tank.
