I also am roughing out the AWC system. I went with the Genisis Renew basic with pumps. The plan is to do a 1 gallon change per day to start. No buckets no turning levers just a set and forget. Make 35g nsw per month and good to go.

also picked up frag racks from seth and met sascha. Both of them are good people in my book.

I needed to get on top of cleaning and this racks helped get that accomplished.

  2. Alright, Bryan has a guy coming out today to drill the two overflow returns and all my bulkheads come in tomorrow so I may be plumbed in this weekend.

I want to take a little time with the aquascape. I uave some emarco 400 cement and some nice pieces to put together. I have been reading a lot on the rule of thirds and looking at a lot of large long scapes so we will see.

My corals are losing some color going from halides to just the ai primes but they will come back.

  3. Just picked up the sump. Thanks Terry and crew from SaltyFish in San Antonio. They did a great job.

Specs are 60X25x18 about 118 gallons total. Adjustable inner baffle, 2 7inch filter sock holders, and adjustable float for ro in return.

  4. Well there is one small issue but Bryan is taking care of it so no worries.

There was supposed to be 4 holes in the overflow box for the 4 returns and they forgot the 2 in front. I didn't notice it until the guys left but Bryan has someone coming out next week to fix it. I am still extremely happy with the tank.

My daughter asked me if we were going to the fish store today because we need a lot more fish for the huge new tank, haha.

  5. That's gonna look very nice when the skin is up!

Thank you. I don't know what exactly im going to do. I am not very good at the fine details part so I may have to bring in a pro. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Well, it seems like you don't really need front access (or at least infrequently), so that might simplify the task?

Yea, I only have 5 inches at the top front. Enough for feeding and i can reach in there a little over half way.

I just want it to look really nice to match the tank. I have a couple ideas in mind and if I can do it I will.

  6. Waitwaitwait, they shoved that in the vans? I didnt get to the store till they were already delivering your goodies methinks

Yea, they brought three vans, haha. I talked to you today when I asked for Bryan, I didn't realize it until just now.
  7. I was just thinking today how I am more stressed than excited because of trying to finish everything to get ready for Thursday. When I was a kid I would not of slept for the last 2 days waiting for this thing but now I'm more thinking it will be here when it gets here. I am a full time student and have been getting hammered with the first tests of the semester as well. I also have a 2 month old baby at home. Between these three I have been very busy the last 2 weeks but it is all good.

I am excited to get things going but I keep coming up with challenges that need solving.

The main one right now is I run my dKH on the low side at around 7.5 and there are not really any salt mixes that go that low. The solution is to slowly bring my corals up to whatever I end up once the new tank is filled and then transfer them. I don't want to lose anything to a rookie mistake that I make.

My sump isn't done yet either. I ordered based on when I thought AGE would be done but they finished a little sooner than I expected. I think it will be done this week. I can't wait to see it.

My quick fixes to the wall look like poo to me so I am also thinking of how I am going to skin the stand and frame around the tank to cover it up.

Getting a new tank is not all giggles but I guess these are just First World Problems, haha, they are great to have!

Thursday at noon is when they are shooting for. Bring it on!!!

Oh yea, once I have it in and things cleaned up a little you are welcome over anytime to see it Chris. That goes for anybody. Thanks
