  1. Anyone know who sells Salifert KH/Alk test kits in Austin? Or if there is another equivalent or better test kit where is it in Austin. I like Salifert because it is a titration and also I can test my Ca reactor effluent easily at the high alk level test.
  2. Anyone have any suggestions to where I may get my recently acquired, used Aquanetics AFC-1 1/6hp chiller checked for leaks, cleaning, and maintenance? Hopefully in Austin.
  3. Wanted to give my two cents. My father has been a plumber for more than 20 years and he gave me some advice about plastic threaded pipe. He said not to use teflon tape but liquid teflon instead. He said if there is too much tape applied, which is usually about what you need to get a good seal, there can be possible cracking in the joints and threads. A decent sized can can usually be found at local hardware stores for a few dollars.
  4. No red bugs, flat worms, or aiptasia! Nothing. And I'm hoping it will stay that way. I've been dipping everything and quarantining everything that I get. Things are coming along for me now and my tank is getting better and better. Thanks for the compliments!
  5. I can see clearly now, thanks!!
  6. Who can see my pics? For some reason since the move I cannot.
  7. Hey Carlos, will you be getting any of the very small goby type fish such as Trimma an Eviota? I'm looking for a few more.
  8. Here are some more for the time being.
  9. I'll be posting more tonight
  10. A sneak peak at my inhabitants, more to come.
  11. Just to reconfirm, all I wanted to buy originally was a part of the encrusting monti(split with Joseph), and the red rim blue center zoas. I'm also hoping to come by around 6pm, if that will work? Thank you!
  12. Ah, I just said Aquatek on MAAST, someone beat me to it. That is the only place I know of that it might be easy to find them, otherwise you can do like me and just wait for a better deal to come around.
  13. Anyone in or around Austin have a Tigertail Cucumber for sale of know where I can get one somewhat easily?
  14. That's what I thought also. I went back the next day and they aren't looking too happy.
  15. Okay, what is this Seriotopora dentritica that Aquatek has in their front display tanks for $95? I've looked up the name and can't find anything on it? It looks like a deep water, low flow coral or something. The polyps are closed and it looked like it was making slime.
  16. Really! I've never been there. Is it a walk-in store?
  17. Know how much? I'm looking for used price or less than $35. I also need a nicely priced pump for it.
  18. As the title says I'm looking for a Phosban reactor or phosphate reactor of some kind. I would also like to get a pump to run it also. I'm also looking for a Mag 7. Lastly, I'm looking for an Icecap 250W MH electronic ballast.
  19. I some what recently got a Hamilton SE 250W 14K bulb and have run it on my older black-box ballast. It has definitely lost its blueish look that it had when I first got it, which is expected but I've also thought my old ballast may be running it too hard or something. I figured if I used an electronic ballast the bulbs might last longer, especially the color characteristics. Would it be true if par values were higher maybe the bulb color or life may be shorter? Also, maybe if I converted to HQI I would also have better results holding bulb color longer. By the way, either of you looking to sell an electronic ballast?
  20. I'm looking to get one of these because I've got an older pendant "black-box" magnetic ballast that I think is wearing out bulbs prematurely. Anyone selling one, or else I'll got to marinedepot.com and get one if everyone has had good experience with them. Lastly, does this ballast require manufacture reconfiguration depending on what brand bulb or type you use?
  21. I've got sunset zoos: Powder Pink Zoos: And RPE's: Their prices are as follows: Sunsets $6 per polyp Powder Pink $4 per polyp RPE's $8 per polyp
