  1. When i make Ribs (pork or beef) I cover with Bullseye BBQ Sauce overnight, set the oven to 200'F and let those sweet baby blossom, and every thirty minutes I baste them over and over again. When there done the meat falls off the bones, then I was them and give them to the dogs. To get puppy bellies

  2. Share your favorite recipes if allowed by your grandmother.

  3. So every Tuesday at work, the hostess ask me "Wheres your fish" apparently they've gotten used to me bringing in a new guy every Tuesday. They have to come with me to work from 3-11 and I usually stop buy at 130ish every week mostly haha

  4. So there's the title, I like getting to know people, so I know who to ask for advice or suggestions. Before I get to that.

What started out as a joint hobby between my wife and I, has turned into more one sided, I have learned to let my wife pick things out and agree so we can buy them. lol I've tried incorporating her into the tank maintenance but its more or less that I'm micro managing her (I hate that). I'm envious of Chad & Belinda they have a great and comical relationship in regards to their hobby. My wife and I don't share that as much as I would like. Yet

She has realized the overall amount of money I spend, new friends that I have, and increased happiness because of ARC. She is seeing the connections that are being made (you know who you are) and new found friends (Subsea biggest shout out and hydro) Your advice and suggestions are always thought provoking and I appreciate them being shared with me. I do listen, complain but listen

Thank you Austin Reef Club, you've done so much without doing anything at all

I'm not from this area and still new, I don't have very many "friends" here

My wife is looking for couple friends currently, and I think this would be a great place for it :)

We're going through some changes in our lives right now with rent and living

My wife and I have been married 3 years now and together 5, I figure if she hasn't left me yet shes prob not going to. Thats why I think we're ready to buy a house, I don't want to fill up the extra rooms though. lol

We're going through a rough time financially but I always come up with money for fish stuff. Its true its my escape from the world. I don't smoke and drink occasionally, I did get hooked on lottery for awhile but just bc of its false hope. I admit that With as much time, love, and care I put it, I spend lots of time just siting in front of my aquarium.

I'm starting to realize that my ship is not going to sail in- I'm going to have to build it and sail out.

Theres so many things wrong with this country, but its ours. I don't like getting into politics partly bc I don't vote. Therefore I don't b**** When I was deployed for my first presidential election 2008, I filled out everything for absentee etc. and I didn't receive my ballot until January after the elections and inauguration were over. Prob the mails fault but I've never gotten over that.

I'm just trying to vent because things are looking bleak for the time being.

So right now Pat Benetar "Love is a battlefield" is sticking out

  5. C Lo...I search and found two nice places in our price range and get this

ol one has 1 acre the other .75 acre the place we looked at in Austin for same price is .168 acres I saved it, its even approved for FHA/USDA that brian was talking about...Thanks guys...keep it coming I'm listening and following up

  6. We def are at very low income haha....I'm looking at the areas and it would have to be outside city like you were saying...Which I'm not opposed to I dont like ppl anyway. This is def. another option if our VA loan doesnt go through for some reason. That program requires zero down and is 30 yr fixed. Please keep the tips coming I am going over this site, and the Texas Veterans Land Board as well

  7. If your going to use Vodka Aquadome set me up with http://www.redseafish.com/index.aspx?id=4225 Algae Management RED SEA NO3 it was 20 bucks for a big bottle...it was methanol

NO3:PO4-X Contains a unique complex of carbons that are used by nutrient-reducing bacteria. Each carbon is utilized by different strains of microorganisms while maintaining the specific Carbon: Nitrogen: Phosphorus ratio required for each stage. The complex includes other organic bonded elements that are important stimulators in each stage of the reduction process. These metal and non-metals elements ensure steady bacterial propagation and complete nitrate reduction to nitrogen gas and the absorption and utilization of phosphate by the bacteria.

The fine control of the nitrate and phosphate levels provided by monitored dosing of NO3:PO4-X guarantees the gradual changes and accurate maintenance of the nutrient levels, preventing destruction of the zooxanthellae population that can cause UV shock and starvation of the corals.

Unlike some other low-nutrient regimes, correct use of NO3:PO4-X will maintain all of the beneficial micro fauna.

NO3:PO4-X is also recommended as a complete carbon source for use with carbon based de-nitrators.

NO3:PO4-X, available in 500ml and 1000ml bottles, also includes a measuring cup for easy dosing.

  8. So I'm going to start looking into using my VA loan. Has anybody done this before, we've already got in contact with USAA who has sent us a realtor. Any homebuying tips at this point would be appreciated. That and I just applied to join the Australian Defence (Defense) force...hopefully they call me.

  9. slightly off topic but in Australia when I visited....there were giant rooms full of kangaroo things....pouches made out of ball sacks....back scratchers made from claws. Complete disregard for the life of other things. They really are treated like rodents over there.

  10. I caught him in about 5 minutes with a giant net...I took him to Aquadome as I just purchased him Wednesday...They are treating him with Copper they said it wasnt that bad. I didnt bother getting another one has the same thing will prob happen. I'm going to give him some time to heal.

  11. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times in my 150 Gallon Hex

Chapter 1 (He's just not that into to)

I often found myself pacing around my tank waiting for my Pink bar and his newly added (hopefully female) Tiger Pistol Shrimp to hit it off to no avail. To my wife he would swim into the area known affectionately as "turtle head cove" and attempt like he was doing "watchman things" my wife yells "honey they paired" and I come running across the room jumping over two weenie dogs. To much dismay I was quite confused as I knew what a "pairing" should look like but the Goby was certainly not doing that; then just as quick he would dart off to the other side of the tank to be some macho bada** to our fellow "Coors Light Bullet Goby"--I guess it wasn't meant to be.

Chapter 2 (You didn't call!-- I know I lost your number)

After a week of watching this go off and on; I finally gave up on my pink spot. He probably was just to big and didn't really care to man up and do what he was supposed to. Maybe he was leading the Tiger Shrimp on, or maybe he didn't call her after their first sand sift together. For whatever the reason I decided that this "relation****" was not going to blossom into my expectations. My wife wouldn't let me get rid of the Pink Spot because she likes he's coloring so I thought I would give love another chance before I called it quits myself. I picked out/up a yellow watchman goby because most of them were already paired with shrimps and me not wanting to break love up, I picked the loneliest one there at Aquadome.

Chapter 3 (Love at first sand sift)

After the proper acclimation procedure there was maybe an hour left of "actinic moonlight" I could see the yellow watchman perching on the overflow box. I waited up and watched eagerly, I went about my routine and after a period of REM (Rapid Eye Movement the band) I awoke refreshed and ready to take on the day. I spent most of the later morning searching around my tank looking for love in all the wrong places and

Wishing and hoping and thinking and praying.

Chapter 3 (I would do anything for love)

I didn't find my Goby until the light came on around noon; he was under the rock at "Turtle Head Cove". I had a rush of emotions at that point, a short time later I see him poke out and I see the shrimp in tow. Then just as quick they were gone. My cupids arrow had pierced them right through the gill. Has she put out at the first sand sift, and dug him his own tunnel? I felt accomplished at this point as they both reemerged on the cave side of the cove. I go about my routine gulping my first of many monsters for the longest day.

I look back a short time later and my yellow gobys' mouth is wide open and turned to the side. Surprised and focused on him; I slowly acquire that my pink spot goby has re-entered the picture and is mirrored with his mouth open as wide as it goes. He moves closer and the yellow goby and shrimp disappear. He turns around and backs up his tail into the other mans cave. After awhile he leaves and then he returns with a shell to take to his former lover. She declined

Shes not into him at this point. He broke her heart and now she's found a true whole hearten committed partner.

I would do anything for love but I wont do that. The End

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So thats my long drawn out love story. please feel to provide feedback

I'm going to monitor my pink spot to make sure he moves on and doesn't take a revenge killing or anything. He didn't strike at him today and he's way bigger than the yellow. So I will wait and watch, and if things go bad I'll take him out and find him a home to heal his broken heart. It is better to have love and lost than to have never loved at all.

I'm just surprised that the gobies and blennies are able to distinguish there own kind so well.

    Very Respectfully, Drew Mendez
