  1. Updating with some details...

    Dimensions

    Tank 24.5 x 18.5 x 60.5

    with canopy & stand 70 x 19 x 61

    the pump is rated 1800gph

The lights are Glo brand T5 HO (two 48 T5's with reflector)

Sorry, I didn't notice that someone had responded.....trying to sell complete.....If I don't sell the complete tank by May 1st I'll consider selling the fish seperate.

  2. Well, it has officially gotten too much to keep up with the tank & a baby.

We have been neglecting the tank & it's time to go.

It is a 110 gallon complete setup, with sump, newish pump (about a year old), T5 lights (less than a year), stand & canopy.

In the tank are two pumps, Clown pair, a Blue-green chromis, Koran angelfish, conch, various snails & crabs, and a couple of very elusive small starfish. (Of course there is a ton of sand & lots of live rock)

Also included would be out protein skimmer (it is not a part of the tank, we put it on and off when needed)

I will update later with more details about the pump & lights when my husband gets the boxes for me.

We are willing to part, but everything must go.

    Asking $1000 for everything

  3. Looking for a 75 gallon or above tank ...lemme know what you have and the specs (glass, acrylic, drilled, not drilled, c-2-c, stand, sump...whatever...the details... you get the idea)

We have a 75 gallon for sale. Everything is included (glass tank, pump, sump, stand, lights, heater, approx 3-4" sand bed, 2 large limestone rocks). This tank has been set up for approx 3 years, never had any problems with it. Until recently it has housed some triggers, it is still full of water and has been running because we were unsure which tank to part with. I will have my husband take some pics if you are interested.

    Asking $250, OBO.

    Thanks

  4. Hi all.

My blue beauty is free to a good home.

We are breaking down one of our tanks to sell, so I need to empty the 75 gallon. The Trigger has been living there all by himself for over a year. He used to live with a Picasso, needless to say he is pretty tame.

    He is approx 3.5 inches.

I am in Leander, will try to post a pic later.

    Thanks!

  5. I have a 250W Home Medic brand w/ ballast that I would trade.. I know it is a little bigger than what you wanted, but it is smaller than what you have. Let me know..

Hey, my husband said that this would work.....I have some pictures of ours - if you would PM me with your email I will send them to you.

Let me get back to you....I need to check with my husband to see if that will work with him.

    Thanks!!

  7. Hey all...

I haven't posted in forever, and this place is huge compared to what it was! Don't laugh, my lingo is a little rusty, with no time to keep up with aquatics... :D

I'm looking to trade my 400w metal halide and ballast for a 175w or 150w with ballast....

We have realized that we are just never going to do any hard corals, and we want to downsize and cut down on the heat and electricity.

We were talking with Steve yesterday at Horizon and he thought that we may do better trying to trade than outright sell...

Let me know if you're interested!!

    Thanks,

    Jeanie

  8. Thanks for replying, I do appreciate it. :)

Since no one had replied in the first couple of days I went ahead and sent them an email. I wouldn't think that a "mated pair" would kill each other if they really were "mated". So, hopefully they will refund my money or send me a real mated pair.

It doesn't matter, they both died anyway crybaby2.gif

  9. I just received my mated coral banded shrimp and they are acclimating. The question I have is, are they supposed to fight? One of them has torn off both of the front legs w/ pinchers of the other one, one at a time.

    Does this seem right? dontknow.gif

Ok guys..is this normal? Should I call the place I ordered them from?

Please let me know what you think!

  10. Make sure you're feeding that foxface plenty of greens and even formula 2. It should equal about 70% of their diet.

Also, anemonefish (like your clowns) are actually omnivores and will benefit from the greens as well.

    John

Thanks for the info. He has had plenty of Bubble Algae to chow down on, but he has done a good job of cleaning it up. There are only a few bubbles that are left now.

What do you mean "greens"? Is there something in particular I should look for?

And yes, I got the Foxface from Horizon, where I'd been shopping before. I got my clowns from Carlos at River City.

  11. Hey, I've been wanting to post to show everyone that we can keep fish alive. We got a couple of false percs about a month ago, and a Foxface about 3 weeks ago. And they are still alive! Yippeee! blob7.gif

The pictures are kinda fuzzy, but I just had to post them!

  12. Oh, don't get me wrong, we're not buying anything else until we know we have everything figured out.

Everything else is fine in the tank, but I'm sure that those chromis could live through a tornado! And the shrimp, snails, conchs, corals probably react differently to different things. I'm home now, so I should probably see if I can't get a good look at the LTA.

We have the tests for pH, NH and Nitrates, and they are all good. We just tested Saturday.

Steve told me to check the pH in the AM and PM too, I just haven't done it yet. I guess I should start that tonight.

  13. I'm not sure how he's doing...Apparently there is a sign on the bottom side of the rock in the furthest back corner that says, "ATTACH HERE SO NO ONE CAN SEE YOU!" confused1.gif

I haven't tried to mess with changing anything around yet, both myself and my husband are getting frustrated with the tank. We have lost all of our clowns. We have decided that it isn't meant to be for us to have clowns, so we're just going to leave it as is for a little bit, then we'll try tangs.

Thanks for all the info amd advice!

  14. Where is this Horizons store? (sorry, Im new here!)

Nurse Nini, how did you acclimate the LTA? My limited experience with them has been the more careful the acclimation, the better luck. I had a rose BTA that I drip-acclimated for a hour and he lived for many years. The one before that I did a short acc of maybe 15 minutes. He lived about a month. Just a thought.

I drip acclimated him for about 45 minutes. I'm still not sure about him. But we did discover last night that two of the new clowns died while we were gone this weekend. We tested everything and the salinity was really high. I don't know how it went from a normal range to high in a week, but it did. We did a water change, I'll have to wait and see. Thanks for the info. fish.gif

  15. Where are you buying your corals at?

From her post in the other thread, I think she gets her stuff at Horizon, over on Anderson Mill. I had been wondering how that store is. They're fairly new, I believe, but pretty close to where you live. Have any experience with them?

Yes, I've been buying pretty much everything for my tank from Steve at Horizon. He is a really nice guy, full of helpful information, and never makes me feel stupid. (WHich I can say that some stores in the Austin area have) His prices are good too.

When he opened he had more fresh water fish too, that's why I started going to him. I have a Caeclian Worm (T.natans) which is the king of my big freshwater tank. Anything that messes with him gets thrown in the pond! :(

Sorry, got OT there...I've been going to him for a couple of years and he has never done me wrong.

    I highly recommend him.

  16. Okay, thanks. I just wanted to make sure that he sounded okay.

Steve tested my water, he said that they were all good. I don't remember all the tests, those are just some I remember. Hopefully he'll look better in a few days.
