  1. We have a 75 gallon for sale. Everything is included (glass tank, pump, sump, stand, lights, heater, approx 3-4" sand bed, 2 large limestone rocks). This tank has been set up for approx 3 years, never had any problems with it. Until recently it has housed some triggers, it is still full of water and has been running because we were unsure which tank to part with. I will have my husband take some pics if you are interested. Asking $250, OBO. Thanks
  2. And he is gone.....thank you!
  3. Hi all. My blue beauty is free to a good home. We are breaking down one of our tanks to sell, so I need to empty the 75 gallon. The Trigger has been living there all by himself for over a year. He used to live with a Picasso, needless to say he is pretty tame. He is approx 3.5 inches. I am in Leander, will try to post a pic later. Thanks!
  4. Hey, my husband said that this would work.....I have some pictures of ours - if you would PM me with your email I will send them to you.
  5. Let me get back to you....I need to check with my husband to see if that will work with him. Thanks!!
  6. Hey all... I haven't posted in forever, and this place is huge compared to what it was! Don't laugh, my lingo is a little rusty, with no time to keep up with aquatics... I'm looking to trade my 400w metal halide and ballast for a 175w or 150w with ballast.... We have realized that we are just never going to do any hard corals, and we want to downsize and cut down on the heat and electricity. We were talking with Steve yesterday at Horizon and he thought that we may do better trying to trade than outright sell... Let me know if you're interested!! Thanks, Jeanie
  7. Thanks for replying, I do appreciate it. Since no one had replied in the first couple of days I went ahead and sent them an email. I wouldn't think that a "mated pair" would kill each other if they really were "mated". So, hopefully they will refund my money or send me a real mated pair. It doesn't matter, they both died anyway crybaby2.gif
  8. I just received my mated coral banded shrimp and they are acclimating. The question I have is, are they supposed to fight? One of them has torn off both of the front legs w/ pinchers of the other one, one at a time. Does this seem right? dontknow.gif Ok guys..is this normal? Should I call the place I ordered them from? Please let me know what you think!
  9. Thanks for the info. He has had plenty of Bubble Algae to chow down on, but he has done a good job of cleaning it up. There are only a few bubbles that are left now. What do you mean "greens"? Is there something in particular I should look for? And yes, I got the Foxface from Horizon, where I'd been shopping before. I got my clowns from Carlos at River City.
  10. Hey, I've been wanting to post to show everyone that we can keep fish alive. We got a couple of false percs about a month ago, and a Foxface about 3 weeks ago. And they are still alive! Yippeee! blob7.gif The pictures are kinda fuzzy, but I just had to post them!
  11. Oh, don't get me wrong, we're not buying anything else until we know we have everything figured out. Everything else is fine in the tank, but I'm sure that those chromis could live through a tornado! And the shrimp, snails, conchs, corals probably react differently to different things. I'm home now, so I should probably see if I can't get a good look at the LTA. We have the tests for pH, NH and Nitrates, and they are all good. We just tested Saturday. Steve told me to check the pH in the AM and PM too, I just haven't done it yet. I guess I should start that tonight.
  12. I'm not sure how he's doing...Apparently there is a sign on the bottom side of the rock in the furthest back corner that says, "ATTACH HERE SO NO ONE CAN SEE YOU!" confused1.gif I haven't tried to mess with changing anything around yet, both myself and my husband are getting frustrated with the tank. We have lost all of our clowns. We have decided that it isn't meant to be for us to have clowns, so we're just going to leave it as is for a little bit, then we'll try tangs. Thanks for all the info amd advice!
  13. I drip acclimated him for about 45 minutes. I'm still not sure about him. But we did discover last night that two of the new clowns died while we were gone this weekend. We tested everything and the salinity was really high. I don't know how it went from a normal range to high in a week, but it did. We did a water change, I'll have to wait and see. Thanks for the info. fish.gif
  14. From her post in the other thread, I think she gets her stuff at Horizon, over on Anderson Mill. I had been wondering how that store is. They're fairly new, I believe, but pretty close to where you live. Have any experience with them? Yes, I've been buying pretty much everything for my tank from Steve at Horizon. He is a really nice guy, full of helpful information, and never makes me feel stupid. (WHich I can say that some stores in the Austin area have) His prices are good too. When he opened he had more fresh water fish too, that's why I started going to him. I have a Caeclian Worm (T.natans) which is the king of my big freshwater tank. Anything that messes with him gets thrown in the pond! Sorry, got OT there...I've been going to him for a couple of years and he has never done me wrong. I highly recommend him.
  15. Okay, thanks. I just wanted to make sure that he sounded okay. Steve tested my water, he said that they were all good. I don't remember all the tests, those are just some I remember. Hopefully he'll look better in a few days.
  16. It's been set up for about 4 months. Everything is good, salinity, pH, KH, nitrite. I have MH's one is 250w, the other is 400w.
  17. Okay, the BTA died. I went a got a little LTA that the clowns that I bought were all over at the store. The clowns are all over him/it now, keep going through him and rubbing all over him, but he's not doing anything! He has hardly changed at all since I put him in. Is he stressed? Is this normal? I really don't want him to be dead too, two of them within a week...I won't get to buy anything else for a while!
  18. He died. sad7.gif Found him dead this afternoon. He's been acting wierd this whole time...he flattened out twice, and he had been closing himself up totally these last couple of days. I'll be getting a new one tonight or tomorrow....I am taking my three blue-green chromis to Steve at Horizon, but I am having a heck of a time catching the buggers! I've got a trap in there now with food, hopefully they'll be stupid. Thanks for asking!
  19. The lights have not been changed since we got the tank. Thanks for the info....here's to hoping he comes back out. We changed the direction of the jet (whatever it's called..I'm having a blonde moment! confused1.gif ) and he seems to be on the move again.
  20. Okay, I'll start a new topic for this one.. My anenome has migrated to behind our rocks. I moved some around yesterday (when we had the canopy off changing the fan direction -thanks). Anyway, this morning he is on the backside of another rock. We've had him for 8 days. He was really flat last night when I turned him around, and I was a little worried about him because I could see through him (and I heard that was bad), Around 4am he was still in front, but on the move, but he was pretty full and looking good again. Anything I can do? Do I just accept that I paid for him and will never see him? Will he come back out once we put clowns in again? Lots of questions because you guys are so good at answering them.
  21. Thanks guys. I remembered that I shouldn't get them before, but I couldn't remember why. I am hoping after we get this tank going well, to have 2 more...I want a tank between 65-110g to keep a banana eel and a few fish that will get along well with him, and then a smaller one. I know, I'm very hopeful! fish.gif Anyway, thanks for the info and the links!
