Right now I know I will be adding a dwarf lion fish to the tank and I plan to do some research and see if I could add a butterfly fish as well. Haven't decided on other fish to add yet

So we recently moved from our rent house and I had to tear down my 55. I liked the footprint of this tank better so I sold all my stuff and started this guy up. The ultimate plan is for it to be an sps and clam tank but because we are in an apartment while we try to find the right house It will just cycle and get the fish.

I just filled it up on Saturday and it seems I will need more rock, I like the look of bare bottom tanks so it will probably never see sand. I am dosing tank with zeostart and zeobak to help the cycle along a bit since I'm pretty impatient seein I haven't had a tank in over a month

I got the ati 6 bulb fixture that can be dimmed and has a timer built in. This is nice as I have always used the cheap 3 dollar timers from the hardware store

As for the equipment all I have installed now is an eshopps skimmer. I have a zeo reactor and a gfo/gac reactor and haven't decided which I will use when I add corals but I don't need either one as the tank cycles.

Awesome I'm setting up a 65 this weekend, since it will probably be moved in a few months to its permanent location it will most likely be fish only (famous last words) and te fuzzy will be its first inhabitant when it is cycled! Victoria, did you do something to convince it to eat blood worms or did it just do it?

Yes sir, that's really the only reason I got it. Mike had one he was showing off at a meeting and I think convinced everyone there to get one lol it for sure takes it off tho. My tank is glass though I have no experience with it on acrylic

Looks like anthelia, if the rocks small enough you can lift it up and burn it off or like someone said bury it in the sand. That's only if you don't want it though! It's a very hardy coral and it's cool but once it spreads its not easy to get rid of.

As far as making it more quiet, what is the set up for your drain? Is it drilled? I can't tell from the pic since my phone screen is so small. Also for keeping it cool, is your light making it that temperature at 100% power or is it not turned up all the way? I feel like my lights got a little warm at 100% so if it isnt all the way up it might possibly even get warmer than it is now.

I have 5 salifert test kits and a Red Sea test kit. All the salifert kits are about half way used and Red Sea kits been used a few times. 25 bucks takes em all.

Fish gallery carries geisman. I have not purchased them yet but I have had both ati and geismann and they look exactly the same to me. If the fish gallery has them for close to the same price I might as well get them there. If I have to order online then ill get ati but from what I've read they don't put out that much more par where it would make a difference. I am also curious to the benefit of changing light intensity throughout the day

I'm pretty sure they are just auxiliary cords. I have plenty laying around if you want to try one

I think aquadome usually has sea hares I know that's far from you but might be worth it if you won't have to scrub rock all the time

So I got an ati 6xt5 light and it has a digital timer and dimmer on it. My question is can I just use any type of t5 bulb? I want to get the geismann bulbs but I'm not sure if I can just dim any bulb or if ill mess them up
