My first aquarium (probably not my last): the 29g biocube that I keep in mine and my husbands bedroom.

  5. so you think your coraline is bleaching or calcifying? Have you checked your alkalinity and calcium?
  6. let me know how that light works out for ya. Im interested in new lights too, but not so sure abut the open top thing yet. Ive looked into the RapidLeds but I am not electrically gifted enough to solder. I can however, use a screw driver
  7. Finally got my blenny to eat seaweed. Thank goodness. I was really worried about him starving.

this sea cucumber likes to be right in front of the powerhead in what seems like an uncormfortable flow, but he put himself there so he must enjoy it.

    2 acans

both still available. Sorry, I don't have any room left in my tank for more rock. I will consider other trades of frags of mushrooms, zoas, lps, or softies. I dont expect anything spectacular but something small to take their place would be cool with me.
  11. I agree, it could be epiphytes (algae that grows on macroalgae/plants). In nature they can be problematic because they grow on macroalgae as a substrate and restrict the light that the macroalgae needs to absorb for photosynthesis. Its definitely not a bad idea to rinse it off so that your cheato can photosynthesize at its full potential.

This is a picture of them a month ago, looking their best.

    2 acans

I have a large 2-headed red acan, and a small 5-headed purple acan. Both from AAF and both called "rainbow" acans Selling for 10$ each bc they are not as happy as I know they could be and before they go to the point of no return, I wanted to give them a new home. The small purple is puffy but losing its color and the large red one is still really bright red but not as puffy as it once was. They both eat well and extend their tentacles. They just dont seem happy unlike everything else in my tank
  14. That stinks. How long have you had your bta. Just curious. Keep us posted on how the rest of your critters are doing.
  15. I always take my samples up to river city a few hours after I do a water change just to check and make sure everything is up to par. Once you have them check your salinity, go home and test your hydrometer against what their refractometer says. My own hydrometer is off by a good 0.002 at least. It really makes me want to invest in my own refractometer. By the way, how is the GSP working out for you?
  16. No more algae in my tank for the blenny so I have to spot feed him in his cave and fend off the shrimps at the same time. Geez. Meanwhile he's looking thin :(

The watchman is out and about. Definitely not shy at feeding time. The green banded is good but havent seen him as much . I think he still needs a few more days to get comfortable
