Heres the tank with the rock. Most of the rock was already in the tnak when I bought it. I added some dry live rock form the large tank I bought. Will this eventually get the corline. Im planning on getting a few nice pieces of LR and adding it. On one piece of of rock the are a few clumps of what look like spider eggs. There are also about a dozen small feather dusters. You can see the two filters in the back. I set up the tank on friday.

  2. I have a 55 gallon tank that I currently have two hob filters and thats it. It seems to be working fine. I bought the tank from a lady who had it running for about 1.5 years but never used any type of lighting. I currently using two T5 lights from the large leaking tank. It doesnt have much coraline but I think the proper lighting will help. Im looking to move this set up into a nice stand and a different55 gallon tank Im buying from here. Should I upgrade to a overflow, sump, skimmer and pump. What are the disadvantage of just using the two hob filters. Ill take some pic of the current set up. Thanks

  3. No, he kinda talked me out of it. He said he fixed two others in the past month and said he just really didnt want to mess with it. Ive talked to another person who whould reseal it for $150. So im just testing the waters. There is someone off here who is coming bye to see if he wants to trade for his 58 gallon tank. Its a 30x30x15 rimless tank. Anyone have any input on this kind of tank for a rookie? Thanks

  4. Sorry to hear that. I have an extra air pump and powerhead if you need to borrow. If you get it fixed it will take a few days before you can put water in it.

I appreciate the offer. I have some of the LR in another 55 gallon tank I bought on Friday also. So ive got some LR in there and the other was already dead when I bought it.

Thanks for the contact info also. I really appreciate all the help guys. Id be lost without it. Thanks

  5. Ive got all the LR in buckets and rubber made tubs. Its all cleaned up but man its gonna smell. We were supposed to stay at the Lake tonight but the hotel messed up the reservation so we can home. I can only imagine what this would have looked like tomorrow.

  6. The tank was drilled. Ive got the Aquarium Fish Life Support in the stand. If I can get it fixed that would be awesome. I really like the tank. Well when it was holding water I did. The worst part is now my wife gets her hardwood floors and Im buying. Please let me know if this thing can be resealed and it wont cost me a limb.

  7. Well we got home and about 1/4 of my 115 gallon tank water was on the floor. This is the one I bought yesterday. I guess I got screwed on craigslist. I bet im not the first to say that. Well what do I do now. It looks like the rear bottom seal went out. Is this fixable or did i just throw a crap load of money down the drain? Please help. First saltwater tank, first day!

I got my tank yesterday and set it up last night. It has about 120 lbs of LR and 40 lbs live sand. The sand came in a bag of water. Half the LR has been dry for about a month and the other half was in a tank for about a year but they didnt have UV lighting. Should I get some nice LR to populate the other LR or with it be OK with the sand and LR I have? How long will it take to clear up the water? Does the aquascaping look OK? They is a small about of green alge on some of the bottom rock whats the best thing to stop it from growing? Thanks

  9. Just ordered Dr.Tims. Ill get the tank on Friday clean it out and run an test to make sure there are no leaks. Set up the water, LR and sand this weekend and cycle the tank as soon as the Dr. Tims come in. Ill take pictures of the process. I really appreciate all the help.

  10. I just bought a book this afternoon and Ive been lurking on here for a month or so. Ive talked to a few LPS and I think Im finally ready to do it. Ive done some research but I always appreciate as much advice as I can get. Can I buy Dr. Tims Bacteria any where locally or is it just online?

  11. Ok I read the video and I think Im going to cycle with the bacteria in a bottle. Thanks for the dry rock suggestion. I can probably use bagged sand and use the premium liverock to cycle everything. Does anyone have advise on setting up the rocks? Like using PVC and how to do it. What is a RO/DI and where can I get one. If anyone has anything for sale that I might can use let me know. I live in Taylor and go to Ausitn a lot. Thanks for all the help. Please dont stop with the suggestions. This is very helpful.

  12. So I am buying a 115 Gallon tank on Friday. This is going to be my first SW Tank. I need to know how to get started.

1.How much sand will I need (LBS). Does it have to be alive or will bagged sand work?

    2. Where do I get 115 Gallons of water to mix with the salt? Will tapwater work to get started and then us the deionized on all future water changes? What salt is best?

    3. LIverock. Whats the difference from liverock and dead live rock? Can I use the dead as a base and then stack liverock on top? Will dead rock become liverock once cycled with live rock?

    4. Can I put the sand in the tank add water and then add liverock as I get it. Or should I have the liverock before I mix the water?

Im lost please advise. Also anyone know where I can get some cheap liverock? Thanks in advance to any help.
