  1. bc of your fingerprint oils on the bulb right Mike?

Correct. The oils on the bulb burn hotter than the clean areas and will cause the bulbs to crack when hot.

Thanks for the heads up on this. After I installed the bulb I wiped it clean (I hope)... I didn't realize the bulb would crack. Maybe I'll open it back up tomorrow and make sure it's completely print free.

  2. Haha, at first I thought you posted the wrong picture and threw one up of the family by accident. doh.gif

LOL...I hoped that ya'll would realize that was the light in the background... I couldn't believe in my hundreds of tank photos I didn't have a pic of the tank with the light.... grin.png

  3. post-1741-0-79721800-1335376247_thumb.jpI have a Brushed aluminum metal halide HQI pendant with 150watt 14K HQI lamp made by Current-USA that is in desperate need of a new bulb... Unfortunately, I can't seem to figure out how to open it to get to the bulb. Anyone have any experience with this light????

    Thanks,

    Mel

  4. I need a couple of big rocks (like 10 pounders)... Couldn't make it over there until the weekend to pick up though. If that's ok I could paypal you the money so you know I won't flake on you.... Thanks...Melissa

  5. No matter where you put him he will move until he finds a spot that he likes... In my experience it is usually where you don't want them... I personally would not attempt to move him anymore for fear of stressing him too much. Just let him be and he'll move all around until he finds just the right crevice... Good Luck.

  6. You'd make a fortune if you started a "train your mandarin/scooter blenny to eat mysis" tank. Just saying....

I was thinking the exact same thing. I want a mandarin so badly, but not confident in my ability to train it to eat...

  7. basically get their kit, a pump and a reservior..... the switches get set up however you want them. Once the water lowers and allows the switc to complete the circuit that gives power to the pump and it sends water to where you want. Once the water is raised the switch kills the circuit and turns off the pump.

You can get a double switcch system for redundancy incase the first switch fails to shut the pump off, you pu ta second switch in reverse up higher to shut down the pum once it gets raised and breaks the circuit. You can also take that switcha nd put it in the ATO reservior so it doesn't run without water, prevventing pump damage.

Hopefully i was clear enough, but it is morning so if im unclear please ask and i'll clarify.

    Great Info. Thanks. smile.png

  8. No one looking for an ATO?

I would love an ATO, but I'm really confused. What are the necessary components of the ATO??? Do I just use any ole' bucket and attach their switches somehow??? I guess I need to do some research, but would love to not be late for work everyday because I had to top off grin.png
