Not sure about the danio, but guppies are just not the healthiest fish around IMHO...Until I started my saltwater tank I always had freshwater...i could keep anything alive and thriving...except the dang guppies. They would be fine for a while then one by one they would just die... Don't give up on fish....just maybe the guppy Good Luck!

I brought some home from the coast a few years ago and put them in a little 14 gallon nano cube. They didn't really hurt anything but they made a mess of my rock work. In fact, they kept knocking everything everywhere... I think if you can find the tiny ones you would be ok. Of course, I thought I was getting tiny ones. When I got home and put them in the tank they were 4 times the size of my largest blue leg... Anyway, good luck and have fun at the coast

YAY!!!!! Everything Survived

New A/C was installed this morning. I left the light off until late this afternoon (giving the house time to cool and the temp time to come down in the tank). Still did the chilled water thing a couple of times today to get temp back down to about 76. Once the light came on everything started to plump up. I have one stony coral that appears to be slightly bleached, but I can live with that.

Thanks guys...it seems to be working. The temp has gone over 80 a couple of times, but not by much. Nothing looks good (I think because I've only run my light for a couple of hours between around midnight and two) but nothing looks like it's dying either... So far, so good. My clownfish is acting weird though. He swimming kind of erratically and seems to be bumping into things...I know this probably isn't a good sign. Hoping to get the new ac installed tomorrow....

So yesterday morning our home ac decided to try to catch on fire and died Luckily I was home or our house may have burned.... I spent the entire day yesterday filling my water containers and placing them in the freezer to cool the water. Back and forth all day. I managed to keep the water at 80. AC people can't replace our unit until Wednesday of this week. I have a big stand up fan blowing across the water surface and I am still chilling the water in my freezer, for now. But tomorrow I have to go back to work and there will be nobody here to do it.

Does anyone have a chiller that I can borrow/rent for just a few days? I, obviously, can't afford to buy one because our ac is costing a fortune. I would be forever grateful

You may be able to sit it on a piece of rock and leave it under the basket for a few days. It may decide to attach itself. Of course, with it already having a stony skeleton I'm not sure if it would....but it may be worth a try.
