  1. I have a 180 tall that is an older tank... but would fit your stand. Its six feet, by the 18 inches, and like 30 inches tall. If you want the two by four stand, you can have it but its just a two by four stand with no skins. It would fit with your stand and hood you have on a 125.

If you didnt take anyone else up on their offers, 50$ and its urs. You can call me at 254 681 0924. I am in Harker Heights. Jill

  2. The tank is a 180 tall. Sits on a two by four very sturdy but not skinned stand. The tank has live sand in it that is about 2 to 3 inches or so deep on the bottom. Has about 3 inches of water in it now. Leaving it running so the sand stays alive. There is coraline algae all over the glass. I couldnt reach the bottom and stopped doing the coraline prob about May or so. There are scratches in the glass. Is not a show tank by any means. Is the older style oceanic. I do not know the age but is the heavy type, not the new oceanic crap. Has been up in my house for the past two years. My brother left it here and its just been running without alot of attention except me adding water and calcium, hence the crazy amount of coraline on the glass. The tank is 6 feet, by I think 30 inches tall, 18 inches wide. Wanting to get $200 for the tank and stand. IS NOT REEF READY. Have an overflow that is the never lose suction one (worked great and never had a problem with it restarting when electricity went out). Will sell overflow and plumbing with tank for 260$. We also have a sump we used for the tank. Didnt really fit well but fit. Its tall and doesnt allow alot of working space. Is approximatly four feet long, with a float switch in the sump, and drilled. Its acrylic and good quality. The edges are bent and not glued. I was told Pete made this when we purchased it in San Antonio from someone. Good quality. Sump is divided in two sections. If buy with the sump and the overflow, then will sell all for 350$. The pump i will give you for free. If you know how to take them apart and fix them, then you might get it to work. It is a little giant pump model. It was going out like five months agoish and I called my brother, who came over and said that it was something about a tooth or something that didnt look good. Maybe the impeller. Maybe you can order a new impeller and it will work. I didnt mess with it. He never came back again to bother looking at it nor did he ever get another pump for it. And I will give you the canopy, minus the lightss 'we' bought, that we got from reefer rob. Its for a 180 that is 24 inches wide but worked well. When its on the tank, the canopy goes back to the wall just to the point where the overflow sits. Masks most of the sounds. As well it doesnt let out stray light from the back end. Will not come with lights though!

So, first 350 gets a 180 system with a large sump.

If you bring $450, I will give you 80% of the rock that was in it (probably about 150ish lbs) and the complete system All you will need is lights, power heads and heaters! And maybe a pump if your not mechanically inclined or if you really cant fix it. I dont know how to.

He isnt ever going to take his tank and I am tired of dealing with it! Would prefer to sell the tank and stand before the other stuff as would rather give someone a good deal on the complete system then piece the overflow and sump out and then be stuck with the tank.

Best way to get ahold of me is to email me at jillnairn @ yahoo.com - remove the spaces. It goes to my cell phone. Thanks. Jill

  3. Get someone who knows what they are doing. I had mine doing by a 'reputable' company. Its already peeling up a year later. The guy who did it said it was because I abused the floor and saltwater got put on it (as well as other stuff) but in reality, after speaking with 'professionals' the color should never come up. It should be sealed in place. The person that I spoke with about my flooring said that they most likely didnt get the acid up off the floor and put down the sealer too fast. The sealer stuck to the left over acid and as the sealer is peeling up, the color is coming right up with it. Frustrating!

Also, because ours was not a 'fresh' slab of concrete and we had swirly marks from the glue of the concrete and linoleum, they put a light concrete overlay over the top. Worked well.

That being said, its not that hard to do yourself. I think the important part if after doing each step, make sure you clean the area appropriatly as suppose to.

I am going to have to have mine done. A $3500 waste of money! Especially when the cost of doing it is only like $1000 for supplies for my 1200 sp ft area that I had done.

  4. I dont know if you have had a persian prior or not, but thought I might throw a little info out there.

Persians are beautiful wonderful cats, that unfortunatly end up at pounds quite a bit. They are a high maintenance breed. They have long hair that must be brushed very regularly. Many people think they will have the time in the beginning but unfortunatly do not. If you like the look of the persians stubby face but are wanting a cat because its less maintenance then a dog, then you might want to look into something called an exotic. http://www.fancyfriends.com/Exotic_Breed_Profile.htm Here was a quick link that I found explaining them.

I have ragdolls. I am partial to them. They are a needy breed though. Someone who wants a kitty because they are aloft and dont need alot of attention need never get a ragdoll. LOL. They are like little puppy dogs, with no skiddishness that alot of cats have. That though is their fault. They are not scared of things so can never go outside. They will not run from new things, like a big dog coming to eat them. Here is where I got one of my ragdoll. A breeder I can highly recommend. http://www.iwantaragdoll.com/

I dont know any persian or exotic breeders in texas. Sorry.

  5. After having a glass heater get a pin whole shatter in it and electrocuting my entire tank :) and then having an expensive stainless one some how decide to fritz and heat my tank up to 90 degrees, I have bought the stealth heaters. No shattering and I am getting them in the smaller size so that if one does decide to go crazy, I wont have the problem of it being able to heat my tank up to that level on its own. Several small ones are better then big ones. Course yours is a small tank, so you cant add several, but just adding my experiences in. Good luck with the new heater.

  6. I would think you will be more happy in the long run with the T5s. Here are my two reasons.

The main problem I see with going with a halide on your setup it the amount of water versus the heat being added. Your halide would have to sit 12 inches off your tank to maybe keep the temperature down. And that is a huge maybe. Unless you have a sump that is adding alot in water volume to your tank. I had a 250 halide over a 60 cube and my heat would climb to 83 to 84 during the day on hot humid days. T5's run cooler and wont add as much heat to your water.

T5's also will give you a better spread over a three foot tank. A halide usually covers two feet well, but with a three foot tank (in my mind, I am thinking 29 gallon is a three foot tank, if I am wrong then never mind), you will have a little less light in the corners. T5's you can order for the length of your tank.

That being said, I would hate to miss out on the shimmer effect of halides :)

Good luck in your choice in lighting.

  7. I agree on the ammonia spike. How long do crawdads live? This thread brought up memories of when I was little and my brothers and I used to go 'fishing' for crawdads.. down at the 'river' ... (Picture three kids in the sewers in KS chasing after crawdads)

    LOL

I had fw for years and didnt use r/o. Never had a problem.

  8. If the shrimp is ok and the fish are dieing, I would have to lean towards a problem with acclimating. If there was an ammonia spike, the shrimp would go first in my opinion.

Firefish isnt that hardy of a fish so wouldnt suggest starting with it again though.

  9. I would deffinatly suggest doing a little reading about that six line. There are other wrasses that are not as territorial. If you are about done adding fish and not going to add any pseudochromis or those type of slim long fish, then it wont be such a issue.

I added mine to get rid of a very similar problem I was pulling out bristles that were eight cm wide and over 12 inches long, on a regular basis! Once they get past the size that a wrasses will eat, they just keep growing and growing. The six line did take care of the problem, but then killed a purple pseudochromis and a another wrasses that I attempted to add later.

  10. I have a koralia 4. Its no tunze, but it moves alot of water around still, compared to a regular powerhead.

I am decently pleased with it, and at $50 (Horizon has them for that price, same you get online!), it was a pretty good deal.

I dont personally know about the seio.

  11. We recently lost our female saint bernard and just one drooly dog in the house just doesn't seem right. We are looking at different breeds but the mastiffs are on our list. They do not have a double coat so less hair!! but their personalities are very different and not exactly a great family dog especially to have around children. Unfortunatly there are alot of backyard breeders who are out there just to make a buck and do not care if what they are breeding is a good representative of the breed. Alot of the mastiffs out there do not look anything like the mastiffs you see at the show.

A great place to start http://mastiff.org/faq/breedref.mv

If you like big thick gooey slobber shoe strings on the couch, wall, blankets, and clothing, they for you. I love a good shoe string slung on the ceiling blob7.gif
