  1. Thanks J, I’ll reach out to them and join those FB groups.
  2. I’m preparing to purchase a decent amount of quality acropora frags from Coral Euphoria and one other place. Before I do so I thought I would take a shot here and see if anyone has similar stock they need to prune or just make some cash. I’ll pay market value. I’m looking for mostly Millipora and Tenius. I would like a frag or two of something high end like Walt Disney or Homewrecker….. I’f your interested, let me know what you have and we can discuss the details.
  3. Thanks Tim, the tang is much better now. I took your advice and dropped a pump in one of the back corners of the tank that’s running to my UV. It was fairly easy since I already had it set up on a separate pump. I also used a powerhead on the opposite side of the tank and I dialed in the correct flow rate for parasites. His appetite has been great so I’m adding a little Selcon to his pellets and nori, 2-3 X per week. I made a couple adjustments to dkh and lighting and he’s Improving each day.
  4. I have around 10 fish in my 80 gallon DT. About a week ago I started dosing Alk through my Dos. The plan was to increase it slowly over the course of a week from 6.7 to 9ish. I made sure not to exceed 1dkh per day and everything was going fine until I reached 8.8 range. One of my tangs started developing what appears to be Ich. I shut down the Alk dosing and started doing some water changes to bring the Alk down a little. Right now it’s sitting at 8.15, it’s been a couple days and my tang is about the same. Not really better or worse. He’s eating normal but a little moody and skiddish. I’m assuming this was due to the Alk but I’m not positive because none of the other fish were affected. Did I do something wrong? What should I do at this point? I have a UV set up and running 24/7. I can set up a QT pretty quick.
  5. Thanks, my 110 gallon is almost done cycling. I placed a nice order through BRS. One of the items was the COR-15 return pump. After ordering I realized it needed the Apex controller. I visited a couple of local fish stores and the last one “Salty Fish” just happened to have a lightly used setup on consignment. I basically got the controller, energy bar, probes and auto feeder for less than half off, and everything works great. I love a good deal. I used the money I saved here to buy a Pax Bellum and a UV Sterilizer. how is your tank coming along?
  6. I just finished the first video. Very interesting to see the direct correlation between death and stress. How viruses live on the surfaces of coral even while they are healthy. The segment at the end about the lagoon and clams was cool also.
  7. Hello there, It’s been about 10 years since I was last here. I ended up settling down, getting married and starting a business in Austin. Oh how time fly’s by. Over the years I have thought about this hobby many times and missed it dearly. I would often look at my old 30 gallon tank pics and videos and comment to my wife about how much I enjoyed it and I should start it up again….. Well we recently relocated to San Antonio and into a much bigger house. I just ordered a new Waterbox tank and I’m super excited to be back. I’ve been combing YouTube lately and it’s very cool to see all the new tech and educational videos available. This hobby has come a long way and I’m ready to dive in head first. I plan to take advantage of some of this cool tech and build out a nice SPS heavy tank over the next year and looking forward to this journey. Blessing, Jessie
